Almost an overlooked release day as Nintendo shed a lot of light, and showed a lot of footage, on new games and updated information this morning via Nintendo Direct. But today is Thursday which means new gaming goodies from the Big N. Today Nintendo has released a new ap for Wii U, a demo and a few retail downloads for the 3DS, a new DSiWare title and another virtual console arcade fighter from SNK. Check them all out below.

Lots of goodness this week with all four Nintendo pillars getting something. The Cave, which was released last week, will be let loose as a demo this week. Three 3DS games are released as full game downloads an there are virtual console releases for both the Wii and 3DS. And 99Moves, which we previewed earlier in the week, is also now available on DSiWare.

The Cave finally lands on the Wii U this week as the highly anticipated game is released. Plus the Wii U Virtual Console Trial Campaign, just announced yesterday, also makes its debut with Balloon Fight. A few more Wii U and 3DS titles, but nothing for the Nintendo Wii or the Nintendo DSi. That’s a shame. I really hope that there are more DSiWare titles in the pipeline.

Coming this Spring, Wii U gamers will be able to download content from their own version of the virtual console including Nintendo and Super Nintendo titles. These games will be playable on screen as usual, and seperately on your GamePad controller.
The service will have a limited selection to begin with, but will continue to add more as well as Game Boy Advance titles. There is also “special pricing” if you’re looking to upgrade your Wii virtual console titles you’ve transfered over to your Wii U. NES games will cost $1 for the upgrade and SNES titles, $1.50. No love for DSiWare this week as the week’s releases are confined to the Wii U and 3DS. Nintendo released the highly anticipated Fire Emblem Awakening demo today as well as Kirby’s Star Stacker for the 3DS Virtual Console and the quirky Tokyo Crash Mobs. Otherwise there’s a couple of older 3DS retail titles added to digital download and the addition of Amazon Instant Video to the Wii U. Somewhat of a slow week on the download front this week.
