E3 2018: Kingdom Hearts III Gets Two Collector’s Editions and a Release Date

Posted on June 11, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

After a half a decade long wait we finally know when we will get to play the end of Sora’s story in Kingdom Hearts III – January 29th, 2019 on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Before the E3 press conferences, parties and festivities Square Enix announced the global release date during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour Concert in Los Angeles.

Fans have speculated that Disney / Square might include a world based upon the 2012 hit film Forzen so that Sora, Riku and Mickey can sled their way thru Elsa’ frozen wonderland. During Microsoft’s E3 press conference yesterday these hoped were confirmed with a brand new trailer that basically recaps early plot points from Arendalle’s first tale.

Check it out here:

A brand new trailer, release date and world reveal weren’t the only exciting things to be revealed this week. Today Square Enix also confirmed that KHIII will also have two collector’s edition. One that includes a set of Sora, Donald and Goof Bring Arts figures and another includes a collectable pin and steel box.

First up is the Deluxe Edition:

  • Deluxe Edition – $79.99
    • Exclusive steelbook packaging
    • Mini art book with concept artwork by Tetsuya Nomura
    • Collectible KINGDOM HEARTS III pin.

Next up is the $199.99 USD Bring Arts + Deluxe Edition:

Deluxe Edition + Bring Arts Figures – The KINGDOM HEARTS III Deluxe Edition and Bring Arts Sora, Donald, and Goofy Set bundled separately will be available in limited quantities for $229.99. Fans can now preorder the Xbox One and PlayStation®4 system versions exclusively from the SQUARE ENIX Online Store.

Kingdom Hearts III was one of the first games I wrote about for BrokenJoysticks back in 2013 when it was revealed. Will KH III answer all of the lingering questions after 16 years of games? We’ll find out next January.

Nioh: Complete Edition Coming To PC On November 7th

Posted on October 2, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja will unleash their brutal samurai action title Nioh on PC this fall with the release of Nioh: Complete Edition on November 7th. Taking the role of a lone samurai players must fight their way through challenging enemies and supernatural Yokai in order to complete their quest. After a lengthy development process that lasted for 13 years Nioh finally saw release on PS4 this past February.

Nioh: Complete Edition will include the base game along with 3 already released DLC expansions: Dragon of the North, Defiant Honor and Bloodshed’s End. Here is a description of each expansion DLC as detailed on the game’s Steam page:

Dragon of the North
This expansion opens up the Tohoku region, where the “one-eyed dragon” Date Masamune is secretly gathering spirit stones.

Defiant Honor
Fight your way through the Siege of Osaka’s winter campaign as you follow the story of one of Japan’s greatest generals from the Warring States period, the brave Sanada Yukimura.

Bloodshed’s End
Join the summer campaign of the Siege of Osaka as the Warring States period draws to a close in this, the final chapter of William’s tale.

A special steam exclusive “Dharmachakra Kabuto” helmet is also included in the Steam release of the Complete Edition.

Nioh: Complete Editions minimum requirements aren’t too strenuous – with the 4 generations old i5 4770 being the recommended processor. The same goes with graphics cards: with the 4 year old Geforce 780 being the minimum to run the game. That 3GB Vram recommendation might be a challenge for someone who has one of the many 2GB Radeon cards that would otherwise meet the requirements.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows® 10 64bit, Windows® 8.1 64bit, Windows® 7 64bit
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5 3550 or over
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 780 VRAM 3GB or over AMD Radeon™ R9 280 VRAM 3GB or over
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 100 GB available space

Veteran developers known for the “Tales of” franchise – Takumi Miyama (scenario writer) and Kosoke Fujishima (character designer) – bring JRPG fans a brand new title with the upcoming release of Dark Rose Valkyrie on PlayStation 4 this coming June.

Dark Rose Valkyrie casts the player in the role as the leader of an elite military unit known as ACID (anti chimera interception division) who must protect humanity from horrifying creatures – once human, but now transformed due to a mysterious virus.  The game’s narrative takes us to an alternate 1929 when a massive meteorite crashes into Earth – unleashing the Chimera Virus which wipes out 3% of the planet’s population. Players must lead their squad through the main story to solve the mystery of the Chimera Virus, the Black Meteorite and prevent another pass eradication of humanity.

We originally brought you news of Dark Rose Valkyrie back in November of last year. The full version will be available in both physical and digital formats on June 6th with the European release set for June 9th.

Nuka-World Official Trailer Released Today

Posted on August 15, 2016 by Les Major

Nuka-World DLC

On August 30th, Fallout 4 fans will get to take on last summer vacation before we get into September. Bethesda Softworks’s last DLC entry in the post apocalyptic RPG adventure takes players to a theme park based on the Nuka Cola brand! Nuka-World seems to be a Disney parody sort of park with quite a lot to do. I mean, there’s even a Space Mountain like ride! Plus there’s Skee ball! Check out the trailer below for the latest on this new location being added to the game.

I have to give Bethesda credit. In a world where there are a ton of locations and side quests to explore, they do keep DLC coming that does encourage players to diverge off the beaten path for awhile and seek out something new.

Gran Tourism Sport Coming Out For PS4 This November

Posted on May 20, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Yesterday Sony revealed brand new details for its upcoming racer Gran Turismo Sport including a new trailer, a release date and new gameplay features.

Polyphony Digital is positioning the game for a North American launch on November 15th – the same day that Japan will get the racing title. Fans in the United Kingdom will have to wait a few more days, with Gran Turismo Sport launching on November 18th 2016.

In terms of new features a number of new details been announced for Sport including the presence of weather & damage effects, a timeline experience for events, a photo mode currently called “scrapes” as well as a companion app.  Developers are targeting the game to support full 1080p / 60FPS output in the final build and the final game will include 130 “super premium cars” with 19 locations (totalling 27 track variants).

When Gran Turismo Sport was announced last Fall Sony also announced that the game would have an open beta. Unfortunately this is no longer the case, as completing the beta would have added an extra three months to the development time – pushing GT Sport into 2017.

Speaking about the cancellation of the beta series creator Kazunori Yamauchi said:

“Just because it’s beta we can’t just throw it out there. It’s required that in order to do an open beta we have to create a proper master for it, and considering the release timing that we announced, we decided that we just don’t have enough time to do two gold masters for the game. By omitting that it saves us about three months of time.”

GT_Sport1

Gran Turismo Sport is currently available for pre-order on the PlayStation Network for $59.99 CDN. By preodering the game digitally owners are given the following perks upon release:

The 3-Car Pack includes:
– Peugeot 908 HDi FAP
– Ford Mustang Gr.B Rally Car
– Toyota FT-1 Vision GT Gr.3

Nintendo NX Dated For March 2017, Newest Zelda To Launch for NX / Wii U

Posted on April 27, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Some huge news came out of the Nintendo Japan financial call for investors this morning relating to Nintendo’s next console, codenamed NX, and the next The Legend of Zelda game. It is typical for companies to slide little tidbits of unknown information in their investor’s reports or on earnings calls in order to assure investors that the company is heading in a safe direction.

Confirmed via Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account, as well as on Nintendo of Japan’s Twitter account, the Nintendo NX will ship worldwide in March 2017. This of course flies in the face of rumors that Ninty was ramping up production for a Fall or holiday season release. It was also confirmed that the NX will not be at this year’s E3 Expo in Los Angeles. That news sounds disheartening, but it wouldn’t stop Nintendo from unveiling the console at a pre-show Nintendo Direct or a similar presentation sometime after the show.

Regarding the newest The Legend of Zelda title, previously confirmed for a Wii U release, Nintendo announced through their financial call that the game will be released simultaneously for both systems sometime in 2017.  This is the second time The Legend of Zelda has been delayed since its gameplay reveal at E3 2014.

What are your thoughts on The Legend of Zelda being released simultaneously on both platforms? Will it be the Wii release of Twilight Princess all over again?

Leak: Overwatch Releases 5/24, Early Access Starts May 3rd

Posted on March 7, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

According to a series of full page and mobile advertisements that accidentally went live on IGN.com over the past few hours, Blizzard’s upcoming team based First Person Shooter Overwatch will release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 24th 2016. Not only will the game come out in just a little over two months but Blizzard will reportedly host an open beta stress test with customers who pre-ordered the game gaining early access starting on May 3rd.

Overwatch Leak

Our staff got the chance to play during one of Blizzard’s rare Closed Beta Test Weekends and honestly I absolutely fell in love with the game. Since  the beta took a brief hiatus throughout most of December and a bit of January the Overwatch development team have added a number of skins, decals and other goodies through progression based unlocks.

Weren’t lucky enough to get into the beta? Mark May 24th on your calendar, Soldier!

Idea Factory International Announces Release Date For Trillion: God of Destruction

Posted on February 10, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Do you have what it takes to best a boss with one trillion hit points? That’s the question that Idea Factory International’s upcoming PS Vita exclusive strategy RPG Trillion: God of Destruction. IFI has announced that the game will be available both physical and digitally on March 29th in North America and April 1st in Europe.

In the world of Trillion: God of Destruction peace in the world of demons, the Underworld, lasted over a thousand years until the demon god of destruction, Trillion, appeared with intentions to consume the entire world.  Players will have six overlord candidates at their disposal to take down Trillion and possibly through forming strong bonds this goal can be achieved.

Alongside the announcement of the release date for Trillion: God of Destruction IFI also released several screenshots an official description of one of the characters in the game Levia:

Levia holds the Crest of Envy and is Zeabolos’ childhood friend. Fiercely loyal to Zeabolos (almost to the point of obsession), she chooses to fight for him to take vengeance against Trillion for harming her friend. When she’s around others, she respectfully refers to Zeabolos as “Great Overlord,” but when they’re alone she’s a lot more forward. However, she definitely lives up to the Crest of Envy when she sees Zeabolos talking with anyone else

Check out the brand new screenshots after the jump. We’ll have more about Trillion: God of Destruction closer to its release date.

Id Software’s DOOM Reboot Dated For May 15th Release

Posted on February 4, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Doom Alpha

Today Bethesda and id Software finally revealed the release date for their long in development reboot of the classic DOOM. The game will hit the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC on May 15th in Europe (and presumably May 12th in North America) the two companies announced in a press release this afternoon.

Alongside confirmation of the games’ release date was the announcement of a limited collector’s edition of DOOM featuring a limited edition Revenant, steel collector’s game case and in-game skins * emblems. If you’re looking to put a physical piece of DOOM on your shelf full of games it’ll set you back about $119.99 USD, no price has yet to be confirmed for Canada.

Here is how Bethesda described the collector’s edition of doom in their release:

“The limited DOOM collector’s edition, created in conjunction with TriForce, includes an exclusive, fully-realized 12” tall collector’s statue of one of the game’s most iconic demons: the Revenant. Modelled from actual in-game 3D files and striking in appearance, the demonic Revenant stands on an LED-lit base with internal, slow-spinning turbine from the UAC facility on Mars. The DOOM collector’s edition also includes a copy of the game packaged in an exclusive, battle-worthy metal case.

The development process behind the latest version of DOOM has been quite long, with mentions of the game dating back all the way to 2009. It looks like after several false starts the world will finally get to frag some hellspawn on current generation consoles this May.

Bethesda has also released a new trailer focusing on the game’s single player campaign. You can check it out below.

Posted on January 21, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Star Fox Zero

Nintendo reaffirmed their plan to launch Arwings into the stars on April 22nd despite rumors that they would delay the upcoming Star Fox reboot, Star Fox Zero, after an online retailer listed the game for a July release.

The game not only features a unique dual screen approach to piloting the Arwing but will also have support for Amiibo Nintendo confirmed via press release. So far two Star Fox characters – Fox and Falco- have joined Nintendo’s line of collectable figures. It is not known what functionality Amiibo will bring to Star Fox Zero or whether or not we will get that Arwing themed figure that Miyamoto teased last year.

Here’s the full quote from Nintendo’s Press Release:

Finally, Star Fox Zero delivers a new beginning for the classic shooter series. With a unique control scheme that uses both the TV screen and the screen on the GamePad, players pilot multiple vehicles through intergalactic levels with Fox and his classic crew. Final Fantasy XV PS4 Version Slated For June Release By Amazon Japan

Posted on December 27, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Final Fantasy XV

Amazon Japan has created an entry for Final Fantasy XV that may reveal that the game is scheduled for a June 2016 in that country.

We already know that Square Enix is planning to announce the release date of XV sometime this coming March so perhaps a early summer release in Japan and a Fall 2016 release in North America and Europe isn’t too shocking.

I also noticed while viewing this page that price is listed as 18,000 Yen or $149.99 USD – could this signal a possible collector’s edition? There’s no further information on the page and in all likelihood all of this information could purely be placeholder data.Read More
