Sequel To Atelier Ayesha Coming Soon In Japan

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

Both Brandon here on Broken Joysticks review, and myself in Darkain Arts Gamers review found a lot to enjoy in Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk. Over in Japan, a sequel is already underway to be released on June 27th this year!

The sequel is called Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. It apparently starts right where Atelier Ayesha ends off and features two lead characters. Both can be selected at the start and play out through the same story, but from their own perspective. The game will also feature multiple endings and use the LTGL engine from Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series. In game battles will include a six person party with front and back rows.

Read on for the trailer, but of course keep in mind you may want to skip it if you haven’t finished Atelier Ayesha yet.Read More

Reminder: Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory Now Available

Posted on March 24, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fans of JRPG and NIS America’s quirky sense of humor can rejoice as Hyper Dimension Neptunia Victory is now available at North American retail, after a slight delay. This is a game I’ve personally been following for months and can’t wait to spend hours with Neptunia and her video-game inspired ensemble.

The game’s story takes place sever years after the prevention of Arfoire’s revival. While GamesIndutri has enjoyed relative peace, Neptune has been transported to an alternate world facing off against a “group of seven” who seek to rid this strange world of the CPUs. Based off the 1980s videogame culture, this alternate GamesIndustri is certainly going to surprise even the most hard core of fans!

New gameplay mechanics include the ability to set up combos with your party members to deal MASSIVE DAMAGE (god that pun was horrible.. excuse me), sending out scouts to gain intel on future dungeons and the ability to “burn” game discs, allowing you to learn a whole host of hidden moves.

Hyper Dimension Neptunia is available at major retailers for $59.99!

Cliff Bleszinski talks State of the Industry

Posted on February 26, 2013 by Jason Bassett

According to Cliff Bleszinski, it seems as though the time is not right to be a console developer. That’s what Bleszinki recently said during an interview with GameIndustry.biz. In his interview Bleszinski states that:

“This business has not been in a state of transition like it is right now since the video game crash of the ’80s”. He goes on to say: “”I really think we’re in a massive state of turmoil. I think Nintendo could possibly be faced with the situation of becoming a company that only makes software moving forward. I think Sony and Microsoft are about to come to major blows. But at the same time, people love playing games on their iPad. The PC is going through a wonderful renaissance right now. I think we’re ready to do digital download games all the time…I just want to see what happens. In regards to the industry, it’s like the Super Smash Bros. of business right now, and I want to see if Peach or Mario wins.”Read More
