GTA V’s Brief Appearance on PSN Leads To Leak of Soundtrack

Posted on August 25, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

RockStar’s next open world crime game, Grand Theft Auto V, appeared on the European PlayStation network as in an unplayable pre-load state for those who have digitally purchased the title. This practice is not new, digital only services like Steam have been offering pre-load as an option for years, allowing gamers to jump right in when a title releases at midnight.

Gamer’s eagerly started sifting through the digital pre-load files and have dug up a few interesting things.  They’ve identified six different radio stations – Non-Stop Pop FM, SoundWax FM, Radio Los Santos, Punk Station, Classic Rock, West Coast Classics and a mishmash list of songs simply presented under the header ‘unknown’.  You can probably place a safe bet on the fact that this is not a definitive list of stations, absence of a talk station aside, as ‘Punk Station’ isn’t exactly witty enough to be included a GTA Game. We also have no clue what the songs under the ‘unknown’ label will fit in, if they are even present in the final build of GTA V.Read More

Dragon’s Crown | Review

Posted on August 6, 2013 by Jason Fayta

Final Fight, Knights of the Round, The Punisher, The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, Golden Axe, Double Dragon, and of course, Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara . . . any of these titles bring back memories–preferably fond ones? The beat’em up, as it’s so aptly referred to, is a genre that had its heyday in the ’90s, when arcades were still a thing, TGIF was the best damn night in television, and Star Wars: Episode I had yet to ruin everything. It was a genre, along with fighters, that dominated my childhood, and while the past few years have been kind to fighting fans, fans of  beat’em ups have had to sift through digital offerings for some of that mind-numbing, side-scrolling action.Read More

The Last of Us | Review

Posted on June 13, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Warning: minor story spoilers ahead.

Describing The Last of Us as a post apocalyptic, stealth-action hybrid that takes place 20 years after hordes of infected have ravaged the world, essentially causing the apocalypse, would be doing it a disservice. While on the surface, and probably to the uninitiated, this statement is accurate, it does little to highlight what makes this game so special: Joel and Ellie, the two main characters, and the bond they share. Zombies may be so passé that the genre appears to be shambling forward like the very undead that inhabit it, but Naughty Dog’s latest proves that a little humanity can warm up the darkest of hearts.Read More

The Iron Fist tournament goes free to play this coming Tuesday with the announcement of Tekken Revolution for the PlayStation Network. In a bit of a surprise announcement, Namco Bandai announced the title yesterday, with a release date just a few days from now. So, right in the middle of E3 you can beat the living crap of people in this latest Tekken title.

Eight characters have been confirmed for Revolution, all of them returning from previous games, including Asuka, Jin, Lilly, Steve Fox and more. Players will be able to level up their characters in a variety of categories including strength, endurance and vigor. This is a first time character progression ha sbeen featured in the series, in previous entries gold was earned for finishing matches, but the currency was only good for cosmetic items.

We don’t know if all 8 characters are unlocked from the start, or if you’ll get only one or two at start and have to unlock the rest through in game currency/real world micro transactions. There is the potential for these eight characters to be available off the hop with more as optional purchases. Also, no details on the amount of stages available, and whether or not those will be hidden behind a pay wall.

Star Trek | Review

Posted on May 15, 2013 by Jason Nason

Star Trek looks and feels like the movies and sucks you into the action. The game, with the voice actors, music and visuals so much like the franchise itself, is very satisfying despite some of the minor troubles.

First and foremost the game is built to recreate the feeling of watching and playing right along with the latest Star Trek movie. The visual presentation, musical score and the actors are all true to the 2009 film. All of the original cast members from the newest films lent their voices to the game.Read More

Tried The Injustice: Gods Among Us Demo Yet?

Posted on April 9, 2013 by Les Major

Last week a demo was released for PS3 and Xbox Gold Members for NetherRealm’s latest fighter, Injustice. Allowing gamers to not only give the fighting system a whirl to see how it differs from Mortal Kombat, but also to play as either Wonder Woman, Batman, or Lex Luthor, in a four tier fight leading to Doomsday. The demo itself only focuses on the Gotham rooftop arena which leads down into the streets too if you power slam your opponent off the far right of the building.

This is a wonderful taste, but don’t forget about the cinematic storyline and S.T.A.R. Labs challenge mode that will be coming in the full game. All this in just one week from today! So brush up on your skills using the background of Injustice to your tactical advantage and get ready for a DC Comics adventure unlike anything you’ve seen before. Injustice will be released April 16th.
