Get June legendary Pokémon Shiny Zygarde at EB Games June 1-24

Posted on May 28, 2018 by Jason Nason

After two months of disappointment, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company seem to be making amends in June legendary Pokémon. A Shiny Zygarde will join the fun in June and will again see code cards return to EB Games from June 1st thru June 24th.

Many people, myself included, missed out on legendaries from March and April and didn’t receive Palki and Dialga or Entei or Raikou. Despite being signed up for the Pokémon Club newsletter, neither a code nor any newsletter showed up in my email box.

Head to a participating EB Canada store from June 1st – 24th, where you can get a code that will allow you to obtain Shiny Zygarde in Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon or Pokémon Moon.

In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon the legendary Pokémon will be level 100 and have the ability Aura Break. It will have the held item Gold Bottle Cap and the moves Thousand Arrows, Outrage, Extreme Speed, and Dragon Dance. In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon it will be level 60, have the ability Aura Break, and a moveset including Land’s Wrath, Glare, Safeguard, and Dragon Breath.

April legendary Pokémon distributed via Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter…again

Posted on April 3, 2018 by Jason Nason

Just like in March, codes for April’s legendary pair of Entei or Raikou will be available exclusively via the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter arriving in April.

I missed the deadline last month to sign up for an account, though a lot of people have complained that even though they had signed up they never got the newsletter. You can sign up for one for free here, though it appears you’ll need to sign up multiple times with multiple emails if you’re like me and have copies of Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, AND Ultra Moon.

Be sure to register for the Pokémon Trainer Club by April 9th so you can add these powerful Pokémon to your game.

Entei will be level 100 in Pokémon Ultra Sun and have the ability Pressure. The Pokémon will also be holding a Gold Bottle Cap. It’s moveset are Sacred Fire, Stone Edge, Iron Head, and Flame Charge.

At level 60 in Pokémon Sun Entei has the ability Pressure and the moveset Stomp, Bite, Swagger, and Lava Plume.

A level 100 Raikou is redeemable in Pokémon Ultra Moon with the ability Pressure. Like in Ultra Sun it is holding a Gold Bottle Cap. It’s moveset is Thunderbolt, Volt Switch, Extrasensory, and Calm Mind. At level 60 in Moon Raikou has the ability Pressure and the moveset Reflect, Crunch, Thunder Fang, and Discharge.

Some other regions don’t have to jump through hoops to get these legendary Pokémon. In the UK and Australia for example, they are being distributed via regular Nintendo Network download.

Posted on July 24, 2017 by Jason Nason

This month’s Mega Stones will unlock the power of Mega Evolution for more powerful Pokémon in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Using the following code you’ll receive Tyranitarite, Abomasite, Manectite, and Aggronite in the. These items will let your Tyranitar, Abomasnow, Manectric, and Aggron Mega Evolve during battle.

These Pokémon aren’t available in the wild in Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon, but you can bring them into Pokémon Bank via Poké Transporter from earlier games. The Pokémon you transfer will lose their items in the process, however, so this distribution is currently the only way to get these Mega Stones in Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon.

Posted on January 25, 2017 by Jason Nason

Pokémon Bank was updated late today and now supports Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, making it easy to transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon — including the downloadable versions — to a single game!

Also updated is the ability to transfer Pokémon you’ve caught in the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow into your Sun or Moon. Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y can also be brought into Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon in the same way.

Pokémon Sun and Moon updated to Version 1.1 today

Posted on January 10, 2017 by Jason Nason

If you’ve booted up your copy of Pokémon Sun or Moon today and tried to connect online you’ve no doubt seen a notification that the game needs to be updated.

Oddly unlike most games on the Nintendo 3DS there is as yet no prompt to perform the update in the Nintendo eShop. A quick search in the eShop will find the update, which you can download for the appropriate game. The update is required to use online services with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Call of Duty & FIFA 17 Maintain Top Sales Spots In First Week of 2017 In U.K

Posted on January 9, 2017 by Rae Michelle Richards

In the first post-holiday sales charts for the United Kingdom both the juggernaut Call of Duty and FIFA franchises have maintained their stranglehold on the top two sales positions heading into the second week 2017.

While established top contenders like COD may not have budged from the top spot the lower rankings did see quite a bit of a shuffle with Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 3 jumping up 7 places to claim the 5th spot this past week.  Also up in the charts  is Nintendo’s Pokemon Sun & Moon which climbed 4 ranks to clinch the 9th position in this week’s top ten.

Here are the top 10 games for the UK for the week ending January 7th:

  1. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  2. FIFA 17
  3. GTA V
  4. Battlefield 1
  5. Forza Horizon 3
  6. Watch Dogs 2
  7. Mafia III
  8. Rocket League
  9. Pokemon Sun
  10. STEEP

Although I didn’t particularly care for Call of Duty’s repetitive rehash of Black Ops III’s mechanics it does seem to be quite popular with our European counterparts. Just this past weekend Jason reviewed Pokemon Sun & Moon – which he awarded an absolutely perfect score, 5 out 5 stars.

Did you play any of the U.K’s top ten games over the holidays? What are your top ten upcoming games for any platforms in 2017? Let us know in the comments section.

Pokémon Sun / Pokémon Moon | REVIEW

Posted on January 7, 2017 by Jason Nason

Before Nintendo officially announced Sun and Moon I made a list of predictions of what I expected Nintendo would announce this year. Atop that list was another Pokémon game but it wasn’t a brand new game that I had predicted. As with tradition I thought that we would surely be getting Pokémon Z, a third game companion to X & Y. Third games have become a tradition after the first pair of games. Well I was wrong and we didn’t get Z; we got something even better.

Overall Nintendo didn’t reinvent the wheel with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Things weren’t shaken up and no one at The Pokémon Company overturned the cart to start from scratch. Why mess with a proven winning formula? What the folks behind the game did is keep what we have come to know and love with the series and inject just enough freshness into the game to make it another winning entry in the series.

Don’t get me wrong. There are definitely things that have been long sought after that haven’t been included in the game, but wishlist items aside Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon are great games. (From here on I’ll refer to the games as Sun & Moon.

More Pokémon coming soon to Pokémon GO

Posted on December 7, 2016 by Jason Nason

There are about to be more catchable Pokémon in Niantic and Nintendo’s mobile game Pokémon GO soon.

The official Pokémon Twitter channel sent out a brief tweet today announcing that “More Pokémon are coming to Pokémon GO!” The tweet went on to tease the date of December 12th for more information.

There is some speculation of what the new Pokémon will be, with the assumption that it will be the second generation Pokémon coming to the game. While that is the most likely assumption, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the new Pokémon from Nintendo’s newest 3DS games Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon might not be in the mix.

It would certainly be a miss not to use this release to cross promote between the two Pokémon games.
