Pokémon Shuffle updated to Version 1.5 with new features

Posted on February 26, 2018 by Jason Nason

Pokémon Shuffle has recently been updated to version 1.5. The update beings with it a variety of new features.

The update includes a new Trainer Rank system that gives you various rewards based on the number of Pokémon that you have captured. These include Mega Speedups, Raise Max Levels, jewels, and Mega Stones. There are a total of 30 Ranks.

The update also adds daily check in bonuses which cycle through 15 different gifts. These include Hearts, Moves +5, Exp. Booster S, Skill Booster S, Mega Start, Disruption Delay, Exp. Booster M, Raise Max Level, Exp. Booster L, Time + 10, and a Jewel in day 15.

Finally the new update allows you to unlock future stages with Jewels. So if you’re stuck at a level and can’t seem to beat it, like I was at one point, you can skip over it and keep playing.

Pokémon Shuffle recently celebrated its three year anniversary and several rewards have been distributed. These include three jewels, Legendary Pokémon Suicune and Mewtwo, a skill swapper and Raise Max Levels enhancement, and Pikachu (Fired Up). You’ll have to hurry though as these rewards are only available until February 27th at 1am ET.

2017 National StreetPass Weekend – Spring Edition

Posted on April 13, 2017 by Jason Nason

Spring is finally here and so is another Nintnedo National StreetPass Weekend!

From April 13th – 16th, collect up to six StreetPass tags from across North America when you stop by a Nintendo Zone location with your Nintendo 3DS. I’ll admit that these national StreetPass weekends excited me more when McDonald’s was a national partner and there was a Nintendo Zone near me. The only real partner in Canada is Best Buy, which unfortunately are few and far between. There are 19 McDonalds in my city while there are just 2 Best Buy stores.

Regardless two of Nintendo’s 3DS games have some special things coming this month both in the Nintendo Zone as well as otherwise.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo has special in-game furniture and items when you visit a Nintendo Zone location. In addition, you can get one item from Nintendo by in-game mail via the SpotPass. Get these special pieces and add these spring-themed pieces to your room:

  • Cherry-blossom clock (4/1-4/15) in Nintendo Zone
  • Taurus bathtub (4/16-4/30) in Nintendo Zone
  • Lotus pond (from Post Office)

Pokémon Shuffle – You can use the StreetPass feature to share game stats with others—and see their stats in return. You can also earn one heart per five StreetPass occasions. Pokémon Shuffle is also giving away a special in-game gift every day for those who check-in until the promotion ends on 4/18!

Free-to-Play Pokémon Shuffle Set to Release Soon

Posted on February 15, 2015 by Jason Nason

Back in January during a Nintendo Direct, Nintendo annouced a new free-to-play game for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is Pokémon Shuffle.

Pokémon Shuffle is a download-only game and the game appears to follow the free-to-play model of many mobile games, and will seemingly have micro-transactions, from what is said in the game description.

“You’ll be able to enjoy virtually all the features of Pokémon Shuffle without paying any money,” states the release. “There is a limit to how many stages you can play through without taking a break. This number will be replenished with time, but you can also purchase items in the game’s shop that will enable you to continue playing immediately, if you choose.”

This seems to fit with every free-to-play game I’ve played on mobile and some on Facebook. Play until your meter runs low or you’re out of moves. Then you have to come back later once it’s recharged or spend real money to play again now.
