Hey! Pikmin | REVIEW

Posted on August 7, 2017 by Jason Nason

I’ve never really played Pikmin before. While I’ve played the Pikmin level from Nintendoland and I have played the demo for Pikmin 3 on the Wii U, I haven’t sat down and started up a game of Pikmin from the beginning before. Luckily there is no prerequisite experience necessary for Hey! Pikmin, the spinoff title for the Nintendo 3DS. Like many Nintendo pieces the game is a stand alone tale and you don’t need to have played any games in the series before.

After crash landing on this new planet Olimar is tasked with the seemingly insurmountable task of collecting 30,000 units of Sparklium in order to fuel up his space ship and escape the planet. Luckily there are also Pikmin on this planet which he can use to help him reach his goal. Pikmin are tiny, curious, plant-like creatures. They come in different colors and types, each with different strengths and weaknesses, but they all seem eager to help Captain Olimar.

Pikmin game for 3DS coming in 2017

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

Pikmin was one of those odd little games when it was first released for the GameCube but has gained something of a cult following. To be honest I’ve never played a full run through of any games in the series, though I’ve watched plenty of playthrough.

And I did get to see and play the Pikmin attraction in NintendoLand.

The series has been a mainstay on their home consoles, now Nintendo has announced that the franchise is coming to the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. The game, which has yet to be given a permanent name, is a new side-scrolling adventure game unlike Pikmin games of the past.

Pikmin 3 Detailed

Posted on June 5, 2012 by Kirk Williford

Nintendo confirmed development of Pikmin 3 today, showing off the game for the first time.

The game features full HD graphics and looks to star new forms of pikmin as they try to build bridges and other objects to help survive.

With Wii U Motion control, you’re able to aim specifically at where to aim Pikmin. You’re able to use the Wii U Gamepad to see a map at all times, as well as use it to place Pikmin around the environment.

You will be able to play the game solely on the Gamepad, too, playing the game in a more RTS style. In addition to that, there are now 4 leaders that can be placed around the maps.

According to Shigeru Miyamoto, it’s a new version of the game enhanced with the controls and high-resolution graphics offered by Wii U.
