MGS V: Ground Zeroes Discounted To $20

Posted on October 30, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Has the price for MGS V: Ground Zeroes kept you waiting for a discount? Just in time for Halloween, Konami has announced that all digital and physical copies of Ground Zeroes will be reduced to $19.99! Considering the game originally retailed for $39.99 USD for physical copies (or $44.99 if you live in the great white north) this new price point might be more appealing.

When we reviewed the game this past April we praised the brand new mechanics on display as well as the impressive graphics. The main story mission is rather short, clocking in at around 2 hours in length, but the extra missions do add some re-playability to Ground Zereos. If you’re looking to get a taste of MGS V before The Phantom Pain drops next year there is no other way to do it.

Techland Sends Xbox 360 / PS3 Versions of Dying Light To The Grave

Posted on October 28, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

Dying Light developer Techland has announced that they have ceased production on the last generation versions of their upcoming undead slaying action game.  They cited the fact that the PS3 and Xbox 360 couldn’t quite handle advanced features like physics based lighting technologies or displaying up to 200,000 objects on screen at one time as one of the contributing factors for cancelling both versions.

Sad news for those who haven’t jumped into the eight generation of consoles, yours truly included. Dying Light will now ship on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC  on January 27th 2015 and will be published by Warner Bros Interactive. There have been no plans for a Wii-U version of the game either, so if you picked up Nintendo’s latest console and where hoping for some more zombie killing action you’re out of luck.

Check out Techland’s full statement after the jump.Read More

SEGA USA Confirms Valkyria Chronicles Coming To PC

Posted on October 28, 2014 by Rae Michelle Richards

SEGA Has begun hinting that their 2008 cell shaded strategy RPG Valkyria Chronicles will find its way onto PC sometime in the near future. In a short tweet on their official twitter account SEGA USA teased that the members of Squad 7 will once again amount an assault against the East European Imperial Alliance.

No further details surrounding the port have been announced as of yet, so those of you excited to possibly see Valkyria’s beautiful art in 1080P with full MSAA will have to wait for more information. The series did see two sequels on the PlayStation Portable – Valkyria Chronicles 2 which was released worldwide and Valkyria Chronicles 3 which was only released in Japan. There’s been no word on if either of those titles will be ported to PC.

As soon as more information is available, we’ll be sure to bring it to you. Until then be sure to check out SEGA’s spare tweet after the jump.

UnEpic | Review

Posted on April 14, 2014 by Les Major

If you’re a fan of Metroidvania titles, you know, games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for example, UnEpic is a wonderful exploration title you’ll probably enjoy very much! I’ve already gushed a little bit about the game before, but there is a lot more to be said about the game itself. Available both on Steam and on the Wii-U eShop, I took a look at the console release that is available thanks to EnjoyUp publishing the title on Nintendo’s latest system. The best part that I’ve already noted is how much UnEpic feels like you’re living a comedic RPG web comic.Read More

Delver Has Been Updated

Posted on April 6, 2014 by Les Major

Ever played the first person rogue-like RPG Delver? Well good news! The early access game that’s still in beta just got even better. Since it’s launch Delver has seen some graphical changes and a good progression of updates. There’s still lots planned for the future but I couldn’t resist and got in on this title already. Going through the dungeon, leveling up, and wandering about is fun! Sorta like a simplified, cartoony, one quest version of Ultima Underworld if I had to put a reference to it. So what’s new?Read More

Planet hopping, Terraria like side scrolling explorer game Starbound has launched into beta and is now available on Steam. I’m in love with these sorts of games and Starbound looks absolutely beautiful! Great artwork, wonderful concept, and definitely something I want to check out as early as possible!Read More

Starbound Beta Available Tomorrow

Posted on December 3, 2013 by Les Major

What is Starbound? Imagine having randomly created worlds to explore that you can visit in your space ship in a Terraria like fashion of gameplay. Creatures and weapons are even procedurally generated to give the alien worlds a truly unexpected and explorable feeling. On top of that, of course you can build your own structures like in Terraria and Minecraft. Sound fantastic? We certainly think it sounds like it! There’s even quests to complete to keep you busy.

Currently Starbound is available to pre-order on both the main Starbound website and on the newly created Humble Store (by the creators of Humble Bundle). Each store offers a $15 version, but the official site also has additional tiers you can buy into as well!

Tomorrow, Starbound will be coming to Steam’s early access program. Of course as with any beta game, go easy on it since it is still in production. However from the recent article on Starbound’s website, the beta version looks quite functional.

We’ve kept an eye on this title for a long time and we’re definitely looking forward to it’s release!

LEGO The Hobbit Officially Announced

Posted on November 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Traveller’s Tales, creator of the fantastic LEGO games, has announced today a new LEGO game based off a popular book series that you may have heard of…LEGO The Hobbit. While some may see these as kids games, I’ll have to give TT credit because the last few games (LEGO Batman 2, LEGO Marvel, LEGO Lord of the Rings), have been exceptionally fun – yes, even for a “kids game”.

GTA V’s Brief Appearance on PSN Leads To Leak of Soundtrack

Posted on August 25, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

RockStar’s next open world crime game, Grand Theft Auto V, appeared on the European PlayStation network as in an unplayable pre-load state for those who have digitally purchased the title. This practice is not new, digital only services like Steam have been offering pre-load as an option for years, allowing gamers to jump right in when a title releases at midnight.

Gamer’s eagerly started sifting through the digital pre-load files and have dug up a few interesting things.  They’ve identified six different radio stations – Non-Stop Pop FM, SoundWax FM, Radio Los Santos, Punk Station, Classic Rock, West Coast Classics and a mishmash list of songs simply presented under the header ‘unknown’.  You can probably place a safe bet on the fact that this is not a definitive list of stations, absence of a talk station aside, as ‘Punk Station’ isn’t exactly witty enough to be included a GTA Game. We also have no clue what the songs under the ‘unknown’ label will fit in, if they are even present in the final build of GTA V.Read More

Nintendo Purchases Through PC Coming This Year

Posted on August 1, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo is planning to let users have more access to their Nintendo Network accounts … from somewhere other than their Nintendo device.

By the end of this year, Nintendo will be adding a new system that allows players to manage their Nintendo Network accounts through smartphones and PC. They’ll also be able to make their purchases there too. This is a part of Nintendo’s plans to further enforce their downloadable sales, while showing players what else there is in store for them.

The company has been struggling with sluggish financial results for some time now, and to climb their way back up, they look forward to expanding their digital business.
