Nintendo confirmed today that the Wii Fit franchise is coming to Wii U.
Wii Fit U will feature new ways to burn calories via new mini games, as well as the ability to upload data from a “Fit Meter”. The game can be fully played on the Wii U Gamepad, allowing for exercising to continue.

Nintendo confirmed that the Wii U will support 2 Gamepads at the same time, as well as detailing more about their new controller at E3.
In addition to details announced earlier this week, the controller will support full motion and rumble and will have speakers with volume control.
Nintendo confirmed development of Pikmin 3 today, showing off the game for the first time.
The game features full HD graphics and looks to star new forms of pikmin as they try to build bridges and other objects to help survive.
With Wii U Motion control, you’re able to aim specifically at where to aim Pikmin. You’re able to use the Wii U Gamepad to see a map at all times, as well as use it to place Pikmin around the environment.
You will be able to play the game solely on the Gamepad, too, playing the game in a more RTS style. In addition to that, there are now 4 leaders that can be placed around the maps.
According to Shigeru Miyamoto, it’s a new version of the game enhanced with the controls and high-resolution graphics offered by Wii U.
A Great Idea Solves Multiple Problems at the Same Time
This quote from Shigeru Miyamoto describes the Wii U GamePad, says Satoru Iwata. This is what describes the now named Wii U GamePad. Nintendo is stepping into the social networking scene with a leap by combining message boards and a console called the Miiverse.
Tonight at 6pm EDT over at the Nintendo Direct website Satoru Iwata will be hosting a broadcast revealing new information about the Wii U.
While no other information has been revealed about what they will be showcasing during the broadcast, it could anything from new games, a price point or just some announcements as to what they will announce at E3. So we’re just 3 hours away from hearing the first information from one of the 3 big names in gaming.

Starting in August Nintendo will begin releasing its first party titles, and possibly allowing third party titles in both physical and digital releases simultaneously. This new digital distribution service is going to affect both the 3DS and the Wii U when it launches later this year.
This new digital distribution service isn’t just going to effect Nintendo’s first party titles either. Today they announced through a statement to IGN, “We are currently preparing a program for third parties, but have nothing specific to announce at this time”.
The third entry in the New Super Mario Bros series was announced this evening by Nintendo via streaming conference. Super Mario Bros 2 will be released this August in Japan according to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.
Alongside the announcement and the reveal of the game’s logo, which you can check out above, a few screenshots are making the rounds/ Interestingly the game seems to be inspired by the classic Super Mario Bros 3 (1990, NES). Elements from that game present in the screens include the P Wing item, which in previous games allow you to skip single stages, and the Power Leaf power up which allows Mario to fly.
