Newest Pokemon From X & Y Looks An Awful Lot Like Mewtwo

Posted on April 7, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Over the weekend Nintendo unveiled a brand new pokemon for the upcoming Pokemon X & Y, during their weekly “Pokemon Smash” T.V series. This little fella looks an awfully lot like fan favorite Mewtwo, whom of course was one of the last legendary from the original set of 151 Pokemon Unfortunately this newly unveiled monster doesn’t have a name just yet, in fact official details out side of the recently released art work and trailers are scant.

This is pure speculation but I believe Nintendo could take one or two routes with this: I believe that regardless of origin, this monster will be a legendary. In terms of its origin I think that it will be either a new form of MewTwo, similar to the way that Deoxys and Shaman can take multiple forms depending on circumstance, so it would have the same type and ID number as its base form, or it will be a new clone of the original Mew in the vein of MewTwo – meaning that is is a human creation.

Check out the full artwork and brief gameplay trailer released by Nintendo after the jump.Read More

LEGO City Undercover Released and New Launch Trailer

Posted on March 19, 2013 by Les Major

The Wii U title that everyone has been waiting for is finally available! Gamers take on the role of undercover detective Chase McCain as he pursues criminal mastermind Rex Fury. Combining the stud collecting adventure of previous LEGO titles and the open world concept we’ve seen developing and improving through games like LEGO Lord of the Rings.

Developed by Traveller’s Tales for Nintendo, LEGO City Undercover swaps multiple characters for outfits Chase can disguise himself with to gain access to new areas with their unique abilities. The game has focused areas like previous LEGO titles in which the missions take place, but there is a city out there to explore as well.Read More

Fire Emblem Gets More Content this Spring

Posted on March 14, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo has just announced that Fire Emblem: Awakening, which was released on February 4th for the Nintendo 3DS, is getting more bonus content.

The new SpotPass content is different from the previously released downloadable content through the game’s Outrealm Gate. This free SpotPass map, which will be available on March 14th, is called “A Hard Miracle,” and follows the story of Fire Emblem Awakening main character Chrom as he encounters a mysterious woman and sets off on a journey with her to rescue a group of kidnapped villagers.

During the next few weeks, more maps will become available through SpotPass. These include Ghost of a Blade on March 28th, a haunted tale about a ghost and the ultimate sacrifice; The Wellspring of Truth on April 11th, a map full of challenging enemies; and The Radiant Hero on April 25th, which takes place on an isolated island as Chrom and his allies search for a legendary hero.Read More

First U.S. Trailer For Pandora’s Tower

Posted on March 11, 2013 by Les Major

The folks at Xseed are bringing Pandora’s Tower states side and it’s sounding good! Personally I like the voice acting in this first U.S. version trailer. The story focuses on A young ex-mercenary named Aeron trying to break the curse on Elena, a singer his heart has been pledged to. She will turn into a monster unless Aeron can obtain the flesh of twelve masters in the towers, seemingly the ones located in The Scar. Elena must then eat their flesh to break the curse. In the trailer, she looks realistically hesitant when faced with this task.

Set to be released in April, Pandora’s Tower was developed in Japan by Ganbarion in conjunction with Nintendo, exclusively for Wii. Read on for the trailer.Read More

Nintendo Forecasting a Year-End Loss

Posted on January 30, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo has sold just over three million Wii U systems worldwide between the system’s launch in November and the end of December. 1.3 million of those systems sold were sold in North America.

The sales, while great, are off from initial forcasted expectations where the company had looked to sell 5.5 million consoles worldwide before the end of March. That forcast has been shifted to four million systems.

Nintendo is blaming softer demand for older systems, including the original Wii.Read More
