Wii Mini Lands in US This Holiday Season

Posted on November 5, 2013 by Jason Nason

Over here in Canada we got the little red Wii Mini last year but the little system that could is making it’s debut in the United States this holiday season.

Nintendo is launching the Wii mini console in the US and will only cost $99.99. Not only that but the system will come packed with Super Mario Kart Wii. When the system was released in Canada last December the console was released as a stand alone without a pack in game, although the Wii Mini started shipping in Canada with Mario Kart Wii as of September of this year.

If you somehow DON’T already own a Wii this is a great choice at a great value.

Nintendo Stops Swapnote

Posted on November 5, 2013 by Jason Nason

Just a few days ago Nintendo stopped some of the service for Swapnote, the visual message swapping service for the Nintendo 3DS. I must say that I’ve never SENT a swapnote though I have enjoyed receving the notes from Nintendo.

The issue stems from some inappropriate message being sent through the service, which Nintendo can’t prevent. Take a look at the full text of the letter posted on Nintendo.com. The letter was also posted as an alert directly sent to 3DS systems.

New Zelda and Pikmin Series Coming to Nintendo Video

Posted on October 31, 2013 by Jason Nason

Finally Nintendo seems to be listening to me, or rather the thousands of fans who have likely voiced the same thing. Original Nintendo content on Nintendo Video.

Nintendo Video is ready to launch a fresh lineup of new shows for the fall. The free video application for the Nintendo 3DS will debut new short-form videos starting November 1st that will continue into 2014. Five new series have been slated, including two featuring The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Pikmin 3!

I’ve long said that Nintendo could and should leverage their well known properties in some way, whether it be licensing or producing high quality content for theatres or television. Nintendo Video? I’ll take it. It’s a great first step.

“This latest set of great new shows for Nintendo Video gives fans a unique way to enjoy two of their favorite Nintendo franchises, in addition to hand-picked series from some of the most imaginative and successful creators in the world of animation,” said Tony Elison, Nintendo of America’s senior director of Business Development.

Take a look at the new series coming to your Nintendo 3DS (and 2DS) starting tomorrow!

Posted on September 6, 2013 by Jason Nason

Nintendo announced a price drop of three of their most popular Wii games today. The games have all surpassed the million mark in unit sales and have been reduced in price.

The three Wii games which are now available for a lower price are Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Sports Resort. The suggested retail price of these three games has dropped to $29.99 each, which comes into effect today.

“The new price represents one of the many steps Nintendo is taking to provide shoppers with the best value and variety across all its systems through the end of 2013,” Nintendo stated in a release today.
