When The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD launches on March 4th it will include a Wolf Link amiibo figure based on the same character from the classic game.
When tapped to the Wii U GamePad controller, the Wolf Link amiibo will open the Cave of Shadows, a challenging new bonus dungeon in the game. After completing the Cave of Shadows, players can save their remaining hearts to the Wolf Link amiibo, and then use those hearts inside the Cave of Shadows to replenish life energy. After conquering the cave, players can save a record of their remaining hearts to the Wolf Link amiibo and attempt to beat their score at any time.
Some of the data stored on the Wolf Link amiibo figure can also be used with The Legend of Zelda game for Wii U, which launches this year. More details about that functionality will be revealed at a later date.
Nintendo provided new details about several of its upcoming role-playing games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on Tuesday. This included the announcement of a special Fire Emblem Fates Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL system launching February 19th.
“Fans of role-playing games have just received a boost to their excitement stat,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Nintendo platforms have always been home to high-quality RPGs, and with even more games launching in 2016, this trend is set to continue in a big way.”
The Fire Emblem Fates Edition New Nintendo 3DS XL system (game sold separately) launches on Feb. 19th at $199.99. With the game not included in the special edition system itself, gamers can Fire Emblem Fates games separately for $39.99 each.
When Bravely Second: End Layer launches exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS on April 15th, a Collector’s Edition will also launch alongside it at a suggested retail price of $69.99. The Collector’s Edition includes the massive game, a 10-song original soundtrack and gorgeous 250-page deluxe art book.
A demo version of the game, Bravely Second: End Layer – The Ballad of the Three Cavaliers, will launch in the Nintendo eShop prior to the full game’s launch. This demo includes a unique story different than the one found in Bravely Second: End Layer, as well as new jobs and areas to explore. StreetPass tags and bonuses from the demo will also carry over to the main game.
Some news from 2chan.net , a popular Japanese image board, there seems to be a new Dragon Ball 3DS RPG on the horizon!
Namely Dragon Ball:Project Fusion. The images show Broly and Goku at the end pose of a fusion dance, so where this could go is anyone’s guess.
As far as I can tell the main focus of the game will of course be on various fusions, likely one’s we’ve yet to see.
Honestly, it looks pretty cool. Dragon Ball fans are certainly no stranger to Dragon Ball “what if” stories, and this will probably be no different.
There’s not a whole lot that has been leaked as of yet. They did detail on 2016 release in Japan. No information yet as to the price.
Nintendo is putting a selection of games on sale each week for the next few weeks, above and beyond the regular sales that we feature each week here. Dubbed the Winter Warm-up Sale the sales will save you up to 30% off select games. While Nintendo.com isn’t showing the actual savings on the games themselves right now, check out this week’s list of games below.
These sales are effective from now (January 14th) until January 21st at 12:00pm.
The wait is almost over. Nintendo announced today that Pokkén Tournament, the upcoming game that lets players battle as prized Pokémon in fighting arenas, will launch exclusively for Wii U on March 18 at a suggested retail price of $59.99.
Pokkén Tournament brings high-definition game play and over-the-top action to never-before-seen battles between some of the most recognizable Pokémon characters.
People that buy the first production run version of the game will also receive a special Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, which can be tapped to the Wii U GamePad controller to unlock the Shadow Mewtwo playable character in the game.
I’ve decided to split this off from the regular weekly Nintendo Download to give a little more of a deep dive into each newly added item to the eShop sales list. So what’s been on sale previously will have the same list you remember, but new entries will also have more detail at the top of the page.
The end is near. The final new weapon will splash into Splatoon today making a total of 74 weapons available in the game.
The final weapon is called the Custom Hydra Splatling and will arrive tomorrow. While no time was mentioned in the announcement, the last weapon was released at 9:00pm so that is likely the time that the new weapon will be released.
Fans of Splatoon have had a great run of original DLC being released for the game, and kudos to Nintendo for keeping the content coming and keeping it free. Many games go the DLC route and can end up costing fans the cost equivalent to another full game.
The new weapon coincides with the latest Splatfest, which asks the question would you rather visit the past or the future.

Nintendo announced the release date for the next installment of the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series. The game will be released on the Nintendo 3DS on March 18th, 2016.
Interestingly the release date for the Wii U version of the game is stated to be “later this year.” Also interesting is that the page for the Wii U game on Nintendo.com doesn’t have a box shot but instead has an image indicitive of a digital only release. Could the Wii U version of the game be skipping stores and being released strictly via digital?
Want to feel old? This year marks the 20th anniversary of Pokémon. It is crazy how quickly twenty years have passed since Pikachu captured the hearts of so many children. (It does not look like he plans to give back your hearts anytime soon.)
After twenty years, the Pokémon franchise is stronger than ever. Still releasing games, trading cards, new anime series, manga, and more. What do you do when you have such a huge fan base after so many years? You give back to the ones who made you into what you are today!
#Pokemon20 is just the tip of the iceberg. You may be wondering if that is all they have to offer? Heck no!

Nintendo announced Friday via social media that the next weapon in Splatoon, the Sloshing Machine Neo, was released in an update last night at 9:00 PM ET.
Surprisingly enough, unlike seemingly all other amiibo figures, Shovel Knight is useable through the packaging! So if you’re a collector of amiibo figures, you can keep Shovel Knight secure in his box and still use those neat new features available from using him. Isn’t that great? This is currently what we’ve seen from the first release Shovel Knight amiibos. It seems to just feature two cardboard flaps at the bottom and no NFC inhibiting foil piece.
So what else can you do with Yacht Club Games hero’s amiibo that was just released today? Let’s take a look at the details.Read More
As a kid having grown up during the 90s, I got to experience the height of the console wars in full swing: Nintendo vs Sega. Both of those companies duked it out for the dominance of the console market, with several other competitors such as Atari with their Jaguar and NEC’s TurboGrafix-16 lagging severely behind. Unfortunately, with growing up in the US, gamers such as myself missed numerous releases. Some of those were either not localized from Japan, or the translations of various games that did make it over were severely butchered by such things as Nintendo’s no-religious imagery/text policy, or had copious amounts of Engrish. Possibly one of the more famous examples of Engrish was the localization of the Sega MegaDrive game Zero Wing, which spawned one of the earlier memes of 2000/2001.
