Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon Leaked Day Ahead Of Nintendo Direct Conference

Posted on February 25, 2016 by Broken Joysticks

Pokemon Leaked

Nerdleaks.com, a website known for hunting down info and posting it to the public before their official announcements, has just leaked the names and logo’s for the new Pokemon games. Nintendo has registered the trademarks of “Pokemon Moon” and “Pokemon Sun”, along with their corresponding logo’s. It’s been almost three years since the last generation of games (X and Y) came out. With the 3DS sales number slowing somewhat in recent month, this may help the handheld pick up the pace until Nintendo decides to announce a new one.

Splatoon Splatfest Results: Blue wins the Day

Posted on February 21, 2016 by Jason Nason

The results of the latest Splatfest are in and it looks like Blue has won the day.

Despite Red winning the popular vote, Blue had a higher win percentage and took the round in points. I had chosen team Red because my very first Pokémon game was the red version with Charizard on the cover. I got the game way back when it was first released.

Which team were you on? Did your team win?Read More

Nintendo Canada hosts Pre-Launch event in Advance of Fire Emblem Fates Release Next Week

Posted on February 13, 2016 by Jason Nason

Nintendo of Canada held a special pre-release event in Toronto on Friday evening, allowing the general public to get their hands on the game for the first time. The event was split between Birthright and Conquest, with the separate sides draped and lit in the colours of the respective themes.

The game was playable for a short time on either side, with both games available to play.

Overall the games look and play just like predecessor Fire Emblem Awakening, though there are some minor upgrades to the battles. These are mostly cosmetic, however they look great. Rather than just fading out between the map screen and the battles themselves, this time in Fates the camera zooms right down onto into the battle where you can see your characters doing battle. As well after the battle is complete the camera pulls back to show the entire battlefield.

The way the characters battle within these battles also looks and feels more natural, with more fluidity and more realism.

It’s a very minor and cosmetic thing, but got our attention so it was worth mentioning.

Rumor: New Round of Nintendo Selects To Hit Canada On March 11th

Posted on February 13, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Canadian retailers might be receiving a new round of permanent discounted Nintendo titles thanks to the ‘Nintendo Selects’ label. Originally posted on the twitter account for retailer Video Games Plus before being permanently deleted. The below image has been making the rounds and if it’s accurate than games once considered rare, one off prints, like Super Mario All Stars for Wii & Pikmin 3 for Wii-U could be getting a new lease on life.

All titles are listed at an MSRP of $29.99 CDN but considering they span three different platforms and two generations this pricing shouldn’t be taken at face value.

We’ll find out if this expansion of Nintendo Selects is accurate closer to the March 11th street date. Do you think someone let the cat out of the bag early?

Splatoon Concert Looks like a Fun-filled event

Posted on February 8, 2016 by Jason Nason

I don’t read and can’t speak or understand Japanese either, which leaves me with just a jealous curiosity about this event.

It looks like Japan was treated to a “live” Splatoon concert featuring Callie and Marie from Nintendo’s hit Wii U game. This ia the sort of silly, yet amazing, things that make fans in North America want to hop on a plane and move East.

Check out the concert below, courtesy Nintendo of Japan. It’s quite amazing.Read More
