Nintendo has unveiled details of a more convenient mechanic for selling downloadable versions of Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games at retail across the UK, Ireland and Germany, with further European countries following in the future.

Gamers will be able to visit participating stores to purchase redemption codes for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS software, including download exclusive titles and add-on content. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Impressions

Posted on September 21, 2014 by Jason Nason

To say the game has been highly anticipated would be an understatement, so when I found out that Nintendo was releasing a demo for Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 3DS I was very excited. Sure, the demo only features a mesely five fighters. Yes, there is only one stage to battle on in the demo. True, there is a limit to the number of times that the demo can be booted up before it expires.

But getting to play Super Smash Bros. before the North American release, which is just over two weeks away now, I’ll gladly take these limitations.

It’s time to Smash.

The Keep | REVIEW

Posted on September 11, 2014 by Jason Nason

The Keep is a breath of fresh air on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, a statement riddled with irony considering the setting of the game. The game brings the classic dungeon crawler role playing game genre and definitely hits all of the right notes.

In The Keep you embark on a quest to explore caves and mines filled with monsters. You are trying to find your way out while also trying to solve puzzles get yourself to freedom. The story unfolds in story narration in between floors. Here is a bit of the plot of the game and then we’ll get to how the game plays and why I love it.

Many have been mesmerized by the blue depths of the Crystals. Those who tried to control them became their slaves. The weak were killed and the strong broken. With ancient knowledge of magic rediscovered old terrors found their way into the Realm and a new nefarious wizard came into being. While the Council hides behind thick stone walls and ignores the Darkness sweeping across the Realm a young warrior comes to face the wizard. He is certainly not the first one to do so…

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call Impressions

Posted on September 9, 2014 by Jason Nason

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call takes all of the beloved music from the Final Fantasy games and mashes them with a rhythm game and the result is pretty great, and pretty tough. The demo has released last week and I downloaded it to give it a whirl. I’ve been a longtime fan of Final Fantasy and love the music. How could I go wrong here.

Playing the game is simple enough. As with similar music rhythm games, the goal is to follow a melody line and tap or swipe at the right times. This is easier said than done, at least in the harder difficulties. Circles and lines pass from the left to the right of the screen. When you are presented with a circle on the screen, you tap when it reaches a certain circle mark on the screen. If you time it right you will get points, if you miss it then you will lose HP in your life bar. Run out of HP and the level is over.
