More Animal Crossing Cards and Isabelle amiibo coming in June

Posted on March 7, 2016 by Jason Nason

The third series of Animal Crossing amiibo cards are just around the corner in North America and Nintendo has announced the date for the fourth series of cards.

During the latest Nintndo Direct it was announced that the fourth series of cards would be released in North America in June. This will bring the series up to 400 cards.

Also Isabelle would be released as a stand alone figure. Previously Isabelle was only available as part of the Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival bundle. The amiibo for Isabelle is actually slightly different, with Isabelle sporting a summer outfit.

The third series of cards comes out in a few weeks, and I’ve barely scratched the surface on the second series.

Metroid Prime Federation Force looks like a fun game

Posted on March 6, 2016 by Jason Nason

There has been some hate online since the brief glimpse Nintendo gave of METROID PRIME: FEDERATION FORCE last year at E3. And when Nintendo showed off a new trailer for the game at their Nintendo Direct last week it didn’t get much better.

But perhaps I’m in the minority here, but I think the game looks pretty fun.

Sure there are some changes to the look of the game, which is what people are likely upset about. The game’s look and art style is a departure from the METROID PRIME games for the Nintendo GameCube, as well as METROID PRIME: HUNTERS for the Nintendo DS, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I personally think that the look of this game feels like a hybrid between the PRIME games and the METROID games of the Game Boy Advance days, specifically METROID FUSION.

One commenter online even pointed out that some of the people hating on the game might relent if the “PRIME” part of the name was removed. But let’s face it; this isn’t exactly the first time Nintendo’s made a multiplayer adventure game based off of one of their piller properties. NEW SUPER MARIO BROS Wii featured four player co-op in a Mario game. Even just as recently as a few months ago we had THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: TRIFORCE HEROES, and that game was heralded as a great game.

So what is this game even about?

Parascientific Escape to be Released this Week

Posted on March 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

Circle Entertainment tweeted just yesterday that their upcoming title Parascientific Escape: Cruise in the Distant Sea will be released on the 3DS eShop this week.

The game follows Hitomi Akeneno, a 16 year old high school student with a little secret – she has not one, but two psychic powers. After receiving an invitation, she boards a luxury cruise ship with her friend, Chisono Shio. As soon as she enters a suite room, a loud explosion sounds…and she finds herself stuck, unable to get out. Is this an accident? Or something far more sinister…? The only way to find out is to escape, with the help of her powers.

While this certainly means that the adventure + escape game will be hitting North American eShops on Thursday, Circle also tagged Japanese developer Flyhigh Works in the tweet. Circle releases many Flyhigh Works titles in North America, so this could also suggest that the game could be seeing a Japanese release oN Wednesday’s Nintendo of Japan download.

3DS Update adds French to Yo-Kai Watch

Posted on February 28, 2016 by Jason Nason

Nintendo has added an update to add French language to Yo-Kai Watch. Once you’ve downloaded the latest Nintendo 3DS system update you can download a software update to play the game in French.

The change isn’t immediately noticeable and requires that you change your system language to French. In this update to Yo-Kai Watch, which updates the game to Version 1.2, the text AND all of the voiceovers in the game will change to French.

Warning though as this is a large update and takes 4,032 blocks on your SD card. The full English version of Yo-Kai Watch is 6,638 blocks.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company officially unveiled Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon today, one day removed from a leak online as official trademark filings were dug up yesterday. The games will be released for the Nintendo 3DS in holiday 2016.

Also announced was the ability to use the Pokémon Bank to transfer Pokémon you’ve caught in the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow into your copy of Pokémon Sun or Pokémon Moon. Pokémon from Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, and Pokémon Y can also be brought into Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon in the same way.

An update is planned for the Pokémon Bank to support Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be the first games in the Pokémon series to allow players to choose from nine languages to play in. In addition to English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish, players will now be able to play in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

There weren’t many details revealed, but Nintendo promises more information is on the way about Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.

Trailer: Rogue Class for Sadame

Posted on February 24, 2016 by Jason Nason

Rising Star Games has released another trailer for their upcoming RPG Sadame. The upcoming action/RPG title launches on February 25th to the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

In Sadame you’ll have a choice of four wildly unique playable characters to upgrade and defeat the forces of evil. Perhaps the most interesting choice is the Rogue.

Combining several combat elements, including a mid-range polearm, a long-range bow, and magical abilities, there is no shortage of options when it comes to the Rogue. Her spells include options that can affect both the player and allies as well as enemies. Need to heal or buff your crew? Or would you rather charm enemy forces to fight for you? How about both mixed in with some combat? The choice is up to you.

Steamworld Heist DLC on the Way

Posted on February 22, 2016 by Jason Nason

The folks at Image & Form posted a new Q&A on Friday, in which they answered questions from fans about a number of things, but primarily SteamWorld Heist.

One of the questions involved ports of the title, which was made for the Nintendo 3DS eShop last fall. There are plans to port the game to just about every platform, including PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, and iOS. The developers haven’t decided on which platform will see the first port.

More languages will be supported in the near future, including French, Spanish, German, Russian, and Italian, which will be released in a free update to the 3DS game. They also alluded to a lot of “very cool stuff” on the way for the game, but didn’t make any announcements just yet. Some of what they have planned stems from feedback from gamers and reviews.
