Posted on June 14, 2016 by Jason Nason

Capcom revealed some new information about upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice for the Nintendo 3DS.

The game is being presented in demo form at E3, with the new demo introducing bright-eyed monk-in-training and self-styled tour guide Ahlbi Ur’gaid, who has been accused of stealing the Kingdom of Khura’in’s national treasure, “The Founder’s Orb,” and murdering its guard, Paht Rohl. Under the kingdom’s legal system, if the defendant is proven guilty, so is the representing attorney. This has led to the absence of lawyers for many years, but visiting attorney Phoenix Wright steps in to defend Ahlbi against the returning and smugger-than-ever prosecutor Gaspen Payne.

Posted on June 12, 2016 by Jason Nason

It’s been a while since I’ve been excited for a national StreetPass weekend. Ever since McDonald’s dropped off as a Nintendo Zone location it’s been next to impossible to participate. The only Nintendo Zone locations left in Canada are Best Buy stores, which are pretty scarce.

But regardless, from June 10th thru June 19 Nintendo has another national StreetPass event going on for E3. Bring your Nintendo 3DS system to a Nintendo Zone location to collect up to six StreetPass tags from around North America!

With Puzzle Labyrinth set to be released today, Circle’s next game is already on the way.

Circle Entertainment announced via their social media platforms that Ambitions of the Slimes is already on the way to North America and Europe. The game will come packed with English, Japanese, Chinese Simplified and Chinese Tradtional.

Ambitions of the Slimes is a strategy role-playing game which will be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This new release could become very close to a simultaneous East-West release. The game is set for release in Japan on June 15th and Circle is hoping for the game to be released here at the end of June or early July.

The game is also developed by Altairworks and Flyhigh Works.

In the game you play as both humans and slimes, which can take over and possess humans in battle. The game looks very much like a Final Fantasy Tactics style game, with characters reminiscent of the Witch and Hero series.

Steamworld Heist | Review

Posted on June 2, 2016 by Jason Nason

When I learned that there was a sequel planned for the hit 3DS title Steamworld Dig I was in. Image & Form’s last game was great fun I was sold on a sequel when all that was available was a logo. Now that that sequel has been released, even though it is a completely different type of game, I’m having just as much fun as I did with the last one.

SteamWorld Heist is a turn-based strategy game at it’s core and it’s great fun.

In the game you will join Captain Piper Faraday, smuggler and occasional pirate, as she recruits a rag-tag team of steam-driven robots and sets out on a daring adventure. With your hearty crew you’ll board, loot and shoot your way through enemy spaceships. Overcome the challenges of the vast frontier by upgrading your robots with unique abilities, weapons – and even stylish hats!

Epic Word Search 2 challenges 3DS gamers Thursday

Posted on May 24, 2016 by Jason Nason

Lightwood Games’ next word game will hit the Nintendo 3DS eShop on Thursday. The game is a follow-up to their Epic Word Search Collection, aptly titled Epic Word Search Collection 2. The game will be released in North America, Europe and Australasia on May 26th.

Epic Word Search Collection 2 brings together five more of Lightwood’s “epic” puzzles. Each one is a giant scrolling monster of a word search, with around 1,500 words hidden in a massive grid of more than 14,000 letters. You can use the D-Pad or Circle Pad to move around the puzzle, then tap and drag with the stylus to select a word. The upper screen shows which words are hidden in the visible section.

This sequel adds the ability to flip direction controls – a much requested feature from users of the original game. Players who activate StreetPass can share their progress with others and will be able to see how they are doing compared to players they meet!
