Having only had experience with dating sim style games in the past and not really a full visual novel like If My Heart Had Wings was a treat I wasn’t expecting. Instead of a choose your own adventure style dating game, players are given more of an episodic anime like feel as they experience the story. Over the course of the many hours the game spans, there are very brief decisions to be made. Think of this more like an extended dialogue session in a Disgaea game or such. Dating Sims are a genre that is too few and far between, at least that’s what I’ve thought over these years. In general, they take romantic storylines and put you in control of their outcome. Usually with a lot of drama along the way.
MoeNovel has released If My Heart Had Wings in English and you can check out the trailer after the break. Even though the game is censored to only focus on the romance aspects and keep the sexual content out of the game, this still looks like a fun story to explore.
