The list, as I stated before, is very long. So check after the jump for the list.

Mass Effect Franchise Continues On, Bioware Working On New Next-Gen IP

Posted on September 19, 2012 by Joshua Rust

With the conclusion of the trilogy of Mass Effect, many fans (including myself) have wondered…”What’s next for Mass Effect if anything?”. Today, via the Bioware blog, Aaryn Flynn Bioware General Manager announced some new details.

“Executive Producer Casey Hudson and his team are coming off an amazing eight-year run with the Mass Effect trilogy. But they’re not done yet. We are releasing more multiplayer content and we have more single-player stories coming throughout the next six months, including Omega which is coming in the Fall. But the Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey and our teams have plans for another full game. “Where to go next?” with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we’d all love to hear your ideas.”

While work on the next Mass Effect game is under way, Casey Hudson and crew are “putting together their vision for an all new game set in a fictional universe, built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology.”

Where can Bioware go next? We already have space, fantasy, and Star Wars…what else is there really?

8 Minutes Of Campaign For Medal Of Honor: Warfighter

Posted on September 14, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Medal Of Honor: Warfighter is about a month away from being released and EA/Danger Close are showing off some single player campaign in this new trailer. Medal Of Honor: Warfighter is supposed to be set in realistic Middle East warfare campaigns. I know that these games are pretty much designed for the multiplayer component, but for once I’d like to see a fairly lengthy single player as well.

Maybe Medal Of Honor can deliver on that.

Medal Of Honor: Warfighter is set to release October 23, 2012.

EA Retreats From Plans To Make C&C Multiplayer Only

Posted on September 10, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Fans reacted negatively upon hearing the news that 2013’s Command and Conquer will be a free-to-play multiplayer only title. It looks like EA has changed its battle plan, pre-deployment, by confirming that the game will indeed feature single player content.

Despite the concerns over the free-to-play model, when speaking to The Verge, EA Reps have stated that the single campaign is indeed compatible with the games freemium model. From the sounds of things the single player for Command and Conquer may not come as a complete campaign, but an ever evolving storyline or experience that will change depending on feedback.

Here is what was said in part to The Verge:

“Does that mean it’s not going to have single-player? No, that’s something we’ve obviously heard loud and clear that is important to people. The beauty of free-to-play, is that we can adjust and adapt to what we’re hearing as opposed to, ‘I’m sorry, it’s two months from ship and it is what it is.’ It’s a very different model because you don’t have to build as much. You build in response to your audience.”

Dragon Age 3 To Add Co-op?

Posted on August 20, 2012 by Joshua Rust

First off, I want to clarify that this is clearly speculation and rumor at the current moment. But, if a recent social poll is to be believed it appears that the Dragon Age franchise could see co-op implemented into Dragon Age 3. While the poll doesn’t clarify that co-op will come to Dragon Age 3, it does give the option to vote for it as a potential feature.

The potential plot for DA3 was given as well via NeoGaf:

“The great nation of Orlais, the most powerful empire in Dragon Age, tears itself apart in civil war.”

“The stout men and women of Ferelden struggle to recover and reclaim their nation from the horde of vile Darkspawn that lay waste to its lands a decade ago.”

“The Chantry, the once-unified faith of the Dragon Age world stands divided. The Templar order has broken away, claiming the church has become too lax in policing the dangerous powers o the mages. The Mage circles have rebelled, believing the Templars have become too strict, too zealous in their duties, and too quick to slaughter those who step out of line.”

“The world of Dragon Age is one on the brink of collapse, and when a desperate gathering in the name of peace becomes the epicentre of a magical blast that decimates the Chantry’s leadership, it becomes clear that someone or something is manipulating events to drive the world into chaos.”

“From the ashes of that explosion, something new rises: The Inquisition. As the Inquisitor, it falls to you to build up your power and martial your forces, uncover secrets and build connections across the world. You must explore forgotten spaces, uncover ancient mysteries and uproot those who would destroy the fabric of the world.”

If it’s true co-op, I’m all for Bioware implementing this in the game. If it’s the co-opatition that Bioware brought to Mass Effect 3, eh…I’ll pass. How about you all? Would you want to see co-op in Dragon Age 3?

Posted on June 4, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Electronic Arts largest sports franchises Fifa Soccer and Madden NFL Football will be receiving Kinect Voice Support starting with this year’s games. During the demo at Microsoft’s press conference EA mentioned that you will be able to change offense and defensive tactics in Fifa by simply using your voice.

On the Madden Front you are able to call your plays before the snap. Hall of Famer Joe Montana made several calls like “Flanker Dig” and “Streak” during the live demo.

Both games will be available this Fall, presumably Madden 13 will launch in August as  is always the case. Check out screengrabs after the jump.Read More

Command & Conquer Alliances Retreats From Beta, Open To All

Posted on May 24, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The next entry in the venerable Command & Conquer Franchise, the free to play Tiberium Alliance is now available for all to play. The game had a rather extensive closed beta which ran from December of last year all the way until this month!

Alliance puts you in the role of either a GDI or NOD commander during the Tiberium with the focus on building bases. You’ll have to place structures, manage incoming Tiberium crystals and power plants. The game certainly puts more emphasis on the base build and resource management that can sometimes fade into the background when playing a more traditional RTS.

EA released a debut trailer to mark the game coming out of beta. It is nice to see that they have treated Alliances with care, its visual style is very reminiscent of the modern C&C titles within the confines of traditional 2D Art.

Enlist now by checking out the game’s official website or watch the debut trailer.Read More

Electronic Arts Set To Lay Off Up To 1000

Posted on April 16, 2012 by Matthew Regier

Electronic Arts has announced  a companywide lay off from between 500-1000 people. A number that will result in having 5%-11%  of their staff back out on the job market. This lay off was originally planned to happen last Monday (4/9) but was pushed back. It has been confirmed that they are coming very soon however.

After EA’s plummeting stock prices dropping from a once lofty $61 per share has recently fallen to $16 per share. While being speculated to keep falling. This is believed to have been caused by 2011 not having as many big blockbuster hits aside from Battlefield 3,  highly underwhelming success from Star Wars: The Old Republic, and high marketing costs. Additionally The Consumerist naming the company as the “Worst Company In America” recently, may have the higher ups considering some restructuring.
