Nintendo to Discontinue Club Nintendo

Well it was great while it lasted.

After more than six years of delivering fun Nintendo-themed rewards to its members, Club Nintendo is preparing to shut down. Club Nintendo members in the United States and Canada can earn additional Coins through the end of March, and can redeem those Coins through the end of June. So if you have any outstanding surveys to fill out, you should take the opportunity to do so now and not miss out.

Nintendo of America will be announcing a new customer loyalty program at a later date.

Club Nintendo Rewards – February 2014

The month of February brings four new downloadable game rewards for Club Nintendo members, including Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

The game is one of two Virtual Console titles that are available for the Nintendo Wii/Wii U, the other is classic Nintendo title Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream. The two other games for the Nintendo 3DS include Virtual Console title Donkey Kong Jr. and DSiWare title Art Style: PiCTOBiTS. All four titles are available until March 9th, 2014.

Club Nintendo Rewards – January 2014

The month of January brings four new new downloadable game rewards for Club Nintendo members, including F-Zero.

The game is one of two Virtual Console titles that are available for the Nintendo Wii/Wii U, the other is classic N64 title 1080° Snowboarding. The two other games for the Nintendo 3DS include Virtual Console title Game & Watch: Mario’s Cememt Factory and Spin Six. All four titles are available until February 9th, 2014.

Move Over Mario, Dr. Luigi is in the Office

Nintendo is continuing The Year of Luigi with another title featuring everyone’s favourite brother. Nintendo is following up the WiiWare title Dr. Mario with a new game in the Wii U eShop in Dr. Luigi.

Much like in the previous game, players will be challenged to line up color-coded pills to destroy viruses. Unlike in the previous game where you were given small two-tone pills, the capsules in Dr. Luigi are, of course, L-shaped. In the last game during multiplayer when you chained a combo by clearing pills you would send “junk” into your opponents screen. This time the game will actually randomize your opponents next capsule at the last second, forcing them to make some last minute changes.

The game will come with a Dr. Mario mode, Wii U GamePad compatibility and online play. Dr. Luigi launches exclusively in the Nintendo Wii U eShop on December 31st for $14.99.

The month of December has brought even colder temperatures and four new classic downloadable game rewards for Club Nintendo members, including Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

The game is one of two Virtual Console titles that are available for the Nintendo Wii/Wii U, the other is Balloon Fight. The two other games for the Nintendo 3DS include Virtual Console title Mario’s Picross and DSiWare title Starship Defense. All four titles are available until January 12th, 2014.

The month of November has brought cooler temperatures and four hot new downloadable game rewards for Club Nintendo members, including Metroid!

The game is one of two that are available for the Nintendo 3DS, the other is Dillon’s Rolling Western, a great indie title in its own right!! The two other games for the Nintendo Wii this month are WiiWare title Art Style: CUBELLO and Nintendo SNES classic The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which is released just in time with the newest Zelda adventure coming to the 3DS in a few weeks. All four titles are available until December 8th.

The game is one of two that are available for the Nintendo 3DS, the other is Brain Age Express: Sudoku!! 2013 Club Nintendo Elite Rewards

It’s that time of year again when Nintendo rewards all their loyal Club Nintendo users with special thank you gifts. Throughout the year every time you purchase and register Nintendo hardware platforms, select games made by Nintendo and titles purchased from the eShops, you are rewarded with coins.

Coins are awarded for purchasing and registering some things while additional bonus coins can be earned by completing post-play surveys.

The big N has just released the list of rewards available to gold members (earning 300 coins between July 1 – June 30) and platinum members (earning 600 coins during the same period). Platinum members can choose from any of eight rewards, which include some real-life goodies. Gold members can select from six rewards. Gifts need to be redeemed by August 15th.
