Questions Arise About The Legitimacy of Green Man Gaming Battlefront Keys

Posted on November 16, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Popular game deals sub-reddit /r/GameDeals has banned the posting of deals from well known discount PC games retailer Green Man Gaming after some users have question the legitimacy of some of the keys available through the website.

Earlier today GMG sent out a blast email to all of those who recently pre-ordered EA’s upcoming shooter Star Wars Battlefront stating that GMG may not be able to fulfil all orders in time for the game’s release tomorrow. This has lead some to wonder if GMG is receiving their keys not from EA directly but from 3rd party retailers.Read More

The game was one of the first next-generation titles to be unveiled two years ago before we knew about the PlayStation 3 and Xbox One. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Announced By CD Projekt RED

Posted on February 5, 2013 by Joshua Rust

The ever popular magazine Game Informer has just revealed their cover for their March issue. On that cover is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt RED’s next installment to The Witcher franchise. The writer of the article forGame Informer, Adam Biessner, gave this quote to get you drooling in anticipation for this issue to reach your eyes:

“Our March cover story gives a world-exclusive peek into the next generation of RPGs with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. This standalone sequel takes the fascinating stories and characters, non-linear plotlines, and difficult decisions that the franchise is known for and puts them all in an open world 30 times larger than the previous game – an enormous setting even larger than Skyrim’s vast expanse, made possible with the new REDengine 3 technology that developer CD Projekt RED is debuting with the game.”

There have been statements released about the size of this open world being around 20% larger than Bethesda’s TES V: Skyrim. Hopefully in this game they will stick to what the roots of a Witcher actually is: a monster hunter. It has also been said that you will be able to research tactics, via books and townsfolk, in order to take monsters down – with time of day/night being a factor in how you handle some of these creatures.

It sounds like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is going to be amazing…and we just barely began to hear details about it!

Game Informer has also posted up a video for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt detailing what you can expect in the upcoming sequel:

So when can you get your hands onThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt?CD Projekt RED states that it will release 2014 on PC and “all high-end platforms available.” Which basically means to us Playstation 4 and whatever the heck Microsoft is calling their new system (presumably just Xbox).

CD Projekt Red Shows Off Cyberpunk 2077

Posted on January 10, 2013 by Joshua Rust

CD Projekt Red, if you didn’t know, is known for their amazing The Witcher franchise. Recently acquiring the rights to make a video game out of the paper-and-pen RPG, they look to expand their resume to a futuristic RPG with Cyberpunk 2077.

Here is the official announcement from CD Projekt Red about Cyberpunk 2077:

In Cyberpunk 2077, the player will be thrown into a dark future. The metropolis of Night City is a stage set to tell the tale of one individual, raised on the streets, who tries to lift himself up from the gutter and find a way to survive amongst boostergangs and megacorporations in a city of filth and sin. Drugs, violence, poverty and exclusion haven’t disappeared by 2077, as people stayed they were for centuries – greedy, closed-minded and weak. But not only ghosts of the past trouble mankind, but new issues have appeared. Psychos go on rampages and the streets are filled with junkies addicted to a new form of entertainment – the braindance, a cheap way to experience the emotions and stimuli of someone else, someone living a more exciting life.

Braindances are digital recordings of a person’s experience. The viewer can stream a braindance directly into his neural system via special brain augmentations, called a BD player. Braindances allow the viewer to experience all brain processes registered, including emotions, muscle movements and all stimuli perceived by the recording person.

The range of themes of these recordings varies from simple braindances made by megacorporations, which e.g. allow the viewer to feel the full experience of an explorer with all its thrills, sweats, smells, views, sounds and the real feeling of curiosity that pushes men to go beyond the horizon against fear and physical weakness. But there are also more controversial sides of braindance, because some recordings are created illegally in the underground. Entering the mind of a serial killer means not only seeing the monstrosity he performs, but also living his lust to kill and fulfillment.

No platforms or release date has been set for Cyberpunk 2077, but I suspect this will be a next-generation title.

CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk RPG Announced

Posted on May 30, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

CD Projekt RED announced that it is developing a new game based on Mike Pondsmith’s venerable Cyberpunk 2020 RPG (originally known as Cyberpunk 2013 when it was first released in the late 1980s). As is typical of this sort of thing, Cyberpunk is set in a future dystopia where the United States is a borderline police state run by ruthless, nearly omnipotent corporations (the rest of the world isn’t doing too hot either).
Speaking at CD Projekt’s Summer Conference, co-founder Marcin Iwinski promised that the RPG will follow in the Witcher series’ footsteps. It’ll be non-linear, morally ambiguous, and “mature.” Unlike the Witcher series, the upcoming cyberpunk game will allow players to create unique characters with different classes. Presumably this means that you will be able to hack and sleep your way through the game or, alternatively, spend your time tasering protestors on behalf of a company using homeless people in their human-animal hybrid experiments.

So far we don’t know what platforms it will be released on (given CD Projekt’s history, it’s a good bet that it’ll be released for the PC) or when it will see the light of day. We’ll keep you posted.

CD Projekt Red Hiring For an “RPG in a brand new setting”

Posted on May 11, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

A quick glance by CD Project Red’s website reveals that they are hiring people for two RPGs. One is listed as an “RPG in a dark fantasy world” while the other is an “RPG in a brand new setting.” The first has a sword icon while the second has a lovely little handgun as the icon.  Does this mean that CD Projekt will make a modern day RPG akin to Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines or Alpha Protocol? We’re betting “yes.”

You can see the full list of open positions here, but you will probably have to move to Poland in order to work on either of these new projects. Please note, we’re not making any judgements about Poland. It is just a far away, almost mythical land for us.
