Project X Zone | Review

Posted on July 29, 2013 by Broken Joysticks

Namco Bandai × Capcom × Sega. No, you’re not reading this wrong, Banpresto and Monolith Soft have joined together to co-develop Project X Zone. This is not a fighting game (sorry versus fans). Project X Zone is a tactical role-playing game featuring characters across popular series such as Street Fighter, Megaman, Sakura Wars, Resonance of Fate, Xenosaga, and Tales of Vesperia, among others. For the very, very few of you who played Namco × Capcom (not to be confused with Street Fighter X Tekken), this game is no surprise. The story is what is expected of crossover titles: an artifact is stolen from original characters Mii Koryuji and Kogoro Tenzai, which triggers a chain of events where different universes begin to intertwine, which throws characters from different franchises in alternate worlds. Tron Bonne from the future lands at Willamete Mall, where Frank West is from, to give a perfect example. Read More

The First Look At Super Smash Bros for Wii U / 3DS

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

We’ve waited two years to get our first glimpse at Super Smash Bros for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Wait no longer because during their E3 Direct live-stream Nintendo showed off not one but two trailers featuring gameplay from both versions.

We don’t know about any content difference between the two games but the 3DS version has a very distinct cell shaded style, while the Wii U version looks like Super Smash Bros Brawl on current-generation HD steroids. In terms of gameplay, it’s pretty similar to previous games in the franchise – at least from the four or so minutes they broadcast. No new items or game changing mechanics, like Brawl’s  final smashes, were shown. We also don’t know how the two versions will connect together, either.

Oh, you want to know about new characters? Joining the fisticuffs are an avatar from the Animal Crossing series and a certain beloved CapCom character who has seen some better days. No, we won’t spoil it – just watch the trailers below.Read More

Capcom’s Dead Rising 3 Infects The Xbox One

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

The infected return in Capcom’s Dead Rising 3, announced this afternoon as a launch window exclusive for the Xbox One. I find this a bit surprising considering the fact that Dead Rising 2 and its spin-off Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, were multiplatfom titles released on the PS3 and PC. Then again, the original Dead Rising was an Xbox 360 exclusive during the summer of 2006.

Dead Rising 3 stars Nick Ramos, a survivor of the break out in the city of  Los Perdidos. Other games in the franchise played with the concept of an open world, featuring many different attractions and areas to explore but Dead Rising 3 raises the ante a bit by offering us an entire city to explore, with no load times!Read More

Zelda: Oracle of Seasons / Ages Available Now

Posted on June 7, 2013 by Les Major

The two classic Gameboy Color Legend of Zelda titles by Flagship, a previous subsidiary of Capcom, are available now on the 3DS eShop! Each is a seperate overhead Zelda game in the same style as Link To The Past by the developers of Minish Cap for Gameboy Advance.

For those who long for more classic Zelda adventure like this, not only am I sure you’re excited for Link To The Past 2 which is on the way to the 3DS this holiday season, these are a set of adventures you may have missed. Personally, I’d missed them, playing Link’s Awakening prior and unfortunately not these two titles.

Gamers can get these titles at a discount until June 20th. Each game is $4.99 until then when the price goes up by a dollar per title. So if you’ve been looking for a great fantasy adventure to spend your time in when not studying for exams or just to get ready for the lead in to summer, Nintendo has you covered!

Zelda Oracle of Ages / Seasons Coming To 3DS VC

Posted on April 20, 2013 by Les Major

As if getting to return to an all new adventure in the world of A Link To The Past wasn’t enough recent Zelda news, gamers can also get ready for the upcoming release of the Gameboy Color classics Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons on the 3DS Virtual Console. The games seperately focus on two worlds, one of which features Link time traveling, and the other controlling the seasons respectively. Both Capcom developed games will be released on May 30th.

If The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX is any indication of the price point for Gameboy Color titles, gamers can expect the two new titles to potentially sell for $5.99 each.

New Remember Me ‘Enemies’ Trailer

Posted on April 7, 2013 by Jason Nason

Capcom has released another trailer for their upcoming game Remember Me. The game is a new original property where players take on the role of Nilin, a former elite memory hunter with the ability to break into people’s minds and steal or even alter their memories.

The game looks pretty intense from what I’ve seen of it and should be a great ride once it’s released. Remember Me is a 3rd person action adventure and the look and feel of the game reminds me of an old PS2 Rockstar title OniRead More
