Bandai Namco has announced today that Dark Souls: Remastered for Nintendo Switch and the Solaire of Astora amiibo will launch on October 19th.
Journey to Lordran and experience the groundbreaking action-RPG on the go. The game was released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 earlier this year but the Switch version was delayed.
An online Network Test will be scheduled prior to release. Stay tuned for more info.
BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment announced that the release date of Dark Souls: Remastered for the Nintendo Switch has been delayed until the summer. The game had originally been planned for a May 25th release on all platforms.
Additionally, the Solaire of Astora amiibo has also been postponed with the same timeframe, which makes sense as many would likely purchase the amiibo and game together.
Dark Souls: Remastered will still be available May 25th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The first title in the genre-defining action role-playing franchise Dark Souls is coming to Nintendo Switch.
Dark Souls: Remastered includes the Artorias of the Abyss DLC, as well as improved framerate and resolution from the original DARK SOULS game for an exhilarating return to Lordran.
This marks the franchise’s debut on a Nintendo platform, and now for the first time ever, this revered (and challenging) game can be played on the go.
Dark Souls: Remastered launches on Nintendo Switch May 25.
Tales of the Rays, the next entry in the storied action RPG franchise will launch on iOS devices & Google Android later this summer Bandai Namco announced today. Like last year’s Tales of Link, Rays will be a free to play title with multiple currencies but it is not yet known how these currencies will be used and if the content will be gated behind a paywall.
With the monetization details out of the way – what does Tales of the Rays have to offer that would put it on par with the regular console releases? Thanks to the increasing power of mobile phones, Bandai Namco says it is poised to offer console quality 3D graphics and the full Linear Motion Battle System to a Mobile title for the first time. Players will tap on the screen to do basic attacks and swipe in different directions to pull off their artes special moves. Special attacks called “Mirage Artes” can be upgraded to unleash devastating hidden moves that can be woven into your existing combos. Overall it sounds like the devs have made a serious effort to adapt the series combat system to the limitations of touch screens.
Like 2007’s PSP exclusive Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, Tales of Ray will see multiple characters across a number of titles interact with one another. Quests will be divided amongst various chapters – each containing highlights and callbacks to specific Tales of entries. Completing a quest line can provide unlocks such as the battle music and overworld themes from a number of titles.
No solid release date other than “summer 2017” and the fact that one of the screenshots on the official website clearly shows five different currencies does have me a bit concerned. Here’s hoping that Tales of Rays will be a solid mobile entry in the franchise and will provide hours of entertaining content for series veterans and newcomers alike – regardless if we fork over realm money for imaginary gems or not.

The release of Pokkén Tournament is nearly here, with the game hitting store shelves in North America this Friday. This finally brings the high-definition game play and over-the-top action to never-before-seen battles between some of the most recognizable Pokémon characters.
Pokkén Tournament is of course a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and BANDAI Namco Entertainment Inc. The game is a new fighting game for Wii U that lets players use their favorite Pokémon characters to battle it out in fighting arenas. This looks and feels like a combination of the turn-based battles fans will recognize from the role-playing series with what can be typically seen from the anime series.
In news that is sure to delight fans of the long running Tales of series, such as myself, Bandai Namco has confirmed via a brand new trailer that the latest entry Tales of Berseria will be releasing sometime in the west for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
In their announcement blog post the publisher briefly described the game like this:
The next game in the long running “Tales of” series is Tales of Berseria, a tale of emotion versus reason! Coming on PlayStation 4 and PC Digital including Steam, the story will focus on Velvet, the first female solo main character. You will embark on a journey and assume the role of Velvet, a young woman whose once gentle nature has been replaced and overcome with a festering anger and hatred after a traumatic experience three years prior to the events within TALES OF BERSERIA imbued her left hand with a special ability.
Berseria like other modern entries, like this year’s Tales of Zestiria, will bring some changes to the established combat formula. Here’s what the development team is trying with Berseria:
The player’s default control is free run
The player can rotate the camera freely
The player can assign multiple artes to any of the four buttons: ○, ×, △ and □, allowing different artes to be linked together in attack combinations.
Are you excited for the newly announced western release of Tales of Berseria? The game was originally announced this past April for a 2016 release in Japan but it looks like it’ll be more of a worldwide affair!
A brand new title in the God Eater franchise – God Eater 2: Rage Burst – alongside an enhanced remake of the original have been announced for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Windows PC to be published by the folks at Bandai Namco Games.
In a brief announcement trailer we see cuts of garbled, possibly corrupted text, interspersed with anime cut scenes that tell a quite confusing tale about some type of infection that has ravaged the world.
The God Eater franchise is an action role-playing franchise that sees the player take the role of an unemployed warrior who decides to take on larger than life creatures. Originally debuting on the PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2010 an enhanced port of the original God Eater made its way to North American PSPs in 2011.

Power Rangers Super MegaForce on the Nintendo 3DS is an average beat ’em up action game, which does what it needs to do but is nothing spectacular. It will surely satisfy the younger fans of the series, but if you’re looking for a fast paced action game you’ll need to look elsewhere.
The game reminds me of the Double Dragon games from the NES days where you play through levels with a pair of fighters. The similarity ends there however as the levels are much more basic, the action slower paced and it’s very repetitive.
Ruthless Prince Vekar has arrived with his massive alien Armada to conquer the Earth. To face this new evil threat, the MegaForce Rangers utilize special Morphers and Keys, which allow them to morph into the Super MegaForce Rangers! That’s the setup of the game, though there is very limited story in the game.
