Metro: Last Light Gives Insight On How To Survive

Posted on April 9, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Deep Silver, publishing giant known for the fantastic Dead Island game, has just release a new video to promote their newly acquired IP Metro. This video gives players an idea about survival in Metro: The Last Light and is the first video in three part series. The Metro IP was formerly owned by THQ, but due to it going bankrupt Deep Silver jumped in a bid for the franchise rights. The first game sort of flew under the radar due to poor advertising, but it was a fantastic game.

It looks like Deep Silver is fully behind it’s new IP and rightly so, hopefully this game will be as warmly received as the first one was (or even more so). I highly suggest seeking out Metro 2033 if you haven’t played it because it’s a great experience and it gets you caught up before the sequel releases.Read More

Metro: Last Light Offers Salvation

Posted on March 19, 2013 by Joshua Rust

I can’t stress enough how highly underrated Metro 2033 was – probably due to lack of top tier marketing and an overabundance of high profile shooters that made it pale in comparison to some. Well, it only scored a 77/100 on Metacritic, but it’s by far one of my top new IP’s of this generation of consoles (behind Borderlands lol). The sequel, titled Metro: Last Light, which was recently acquired by Deep Silver after THQ’s downfall is set to release May 14th, 2013.

Thankfully it looks like Deep Silver is fully behind this game as they are starting to hype the heck out of it, which the game fully deserves.Read More

Metro: The Last Light Limited Edition Detailed

Posted on December 14, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Metro: The Last Light is poised for a March 2013 release and if you haven’t went to pre-order this game yet, you might be more entitled to do so now. As of today, THQ has announced that all pre-orders will automatically be upgraded to the Limited Edition of Metro: The Last Light.

What does this limited edition include you may ask? Well, it will include a harder difficulty mode known as “Ranger Mode”. For those familiar with the first game, Ranger Mode is insanely hard – one hit by a bullet will kill you. Not only that, you don’t have a HUD and pick-ups have less quantities of ammunition. But, players were also entitled to 3x damage with their own weapons. Sounds like fun huh?

As you can tell from the above picture, you also get Extra Military Grade Bullets which are essential for either trading or killing enemies quickly and effectively.  In addition, you also receive the Modified Russian Rifle which is ideal for “claustrophobic combat.” Oh yes!

So what are you waiting for? Really, what are you waiting for! Go pre-order Metro: The Last Light and get the FREE Limited Edition upgrade. I’m expecting this game to stand out a lot more that its predecessor (which was a really solid, under-the-radar hit). You definitely need to check this out! Here is a trailer if you need a little more persuasion.

Metro: The Last Light “Genesis” Trailer Comes Into The Light

Posted on December 12, 2012 by Joshua Rust

If you haven’t played Metro 2033 from 4A Games you are missing out on one of the greatest hidden gems on the Xbox 360 console. While it averaged a favorable reception from critics (earning a 77/100 on Metacritic across 83 reviewers), I still believe it’s one of the best un-established games that has come out in this generation of consoles. For those that haven’t played it, THQ is offering up a free steam code by “liking” their Facebook page – but the quantities are limited so hurry!

So apparently it did so well that it justified a sequel and rightly so! For those unfamiliar with the lore of this game, it is adapted from Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s Metro 2033. For more information about the book, you can check out this wiki page. For those of you who have played the first game, I’m interested to hear what you thought about the first game and which ending you did?

Now, onto the trailer from the sequel – Metro: The Last Light

While an exact date hasn’t been narrowed down just yet, Metro: The Last Light is expected to launch March 2013.
