Broken Bootlegs- Harry Potter MD

Posted on June 30, 2016 by Erika

Harry Potter MD
Broken Bootlegs is a series covering unlicensed games (also known as bootleg games) for mainly 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. This week’s edition covers one of the Harry Potter games for the Mega Drive. First off, I want to say , to possibly my family’s shock and horror, I’ve really never had any exposure to Harry Potter whatsoever when I was growing up. Save for this exception, I have yet to read nor see the series to this day. During my search of Mega Drive games more than a decade ago, I found a Harry Potter game, and thought to myself

Puzzle Labyrinth | Review

Posted on June 29, 2016 by Jason Nason

Puzzle Labyrinth is a very bare bones puzzle game. There isn’t anything flashy in the Nintendo 3DS eShop game. Like sitting down to do a crossword or a Sudoku puzzle, this game feels the same way. Each puzzle is independent of the rest in the book and can really be done in any order. There is no connecting story to bridge the puzzles together and no character narrative to bring you from one to the next. It’s just puzzles, but set up with deductive logic and set in a three dimensional environment. Puzzle Labyrinth has sixty stages to play through,

Posted on June 29, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

The Division
The first of three expansions for Tom Clancy’s The Division – Underground – is now available on the Xbox One, PlayStation and Windows PC. Massive Entertainment’s first paid add-on for the game adds a number of new additions that will hopefully please high-level players who have worked their way up to level 30 and conquered even the most challenging Incursions. Agents who deploy into the Underground will be tasked to investigate a secret war that is happening below the streets of Manhattan. With our to three friends players can take on randomly generated missions filled with new hazards and traps. A new level

G2A to offer developers royalties from second party sales

Posted on June 29, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

G2A has been getting a ton of attention recently. Their most recent scandal was that they may have sold 45,000$ of Tinybuild games. which we wrote about here.  G2A have responded to the accusations and the fight goes on. But, this is only the most recent of scandals that G2A have had to weather.  Second party markets all over the internet have come under fire for selling stolen keys. As a member of press I often have to deal with people asking me to send them email from a non-personal email address. This is why our domain email exist. Developers especially

Battle.net Endures DDOS Attack

Posted on June 29, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Blizzard Entertainment’s Battle.net service was the target of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack this past evening. Customer service agents announced the service distribution on one of the company’s official twitter accounts. Users reported connection problems with games like Overwatch on Reddit, with several posts being unable to even sign-in to the Battle.net launcher. Over the course of this outage our staff noticed considerable lag and matchmaking issues with Overwatch as well. The entire attack lasted roughly seven hours – at least that the time difference between Blizzard CS announcing the attack and sounding the all clear. [#BNet] We are currently monitoring a

Warner Bros. LEGO Star Wars TFA Event Was Amazing!

Posted on June 28, 2016 by Les Major

Last Monday was nothing short of amazing! As part of a small group of media we were able to visit an exclusive event at The Rogers Center in downtown Toronto. That’s right, the exact field the Toronto Blue Jays play at became a fantastic spectacle to highlight Traveller’s Tales upcoming new LEGO Star Wars release. We entered to the familiar John Williams score, making our way up into the TD Comfort Clubhouse to enjoy an all star treatment while being some of the first in Canada to play the new game.

KARAKARA Now Available on Steam

Posted on June 27, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Sekai Project, in partnership with calme, has today announced that the heartwarming visual novel, KARAKARA is now available on Steam for Windows PC. This one is one that I have been looking forward to for some time. Bishi VN’s are fairly rare. As they tend to be marketed to the much smaller gay male, and female fan bases. So this one is a pretty great find to have coming to Steam. Developed by calme, KARAKARA is a Bishoujo visual novel set in an alternate, dystopian world where the comfortable and quaint life of Leon and Lucia, two hardworking diner owners, takes

Dolphin Emulator
The fifth version of the Dolphin Wii / Gamecube emulator was released just prior to this weekend and it packs a number of enhancements that will surely have the emulation community ecstatic for the foreseeable future. Version 5 is the first major release in sometime, Dolphin 4.0 was finalized all the way back in September 2013. A bump up in version number isn’t superfluous, the developers behind have used the last 24+ months to increase the emulation of hundreds of titles – improving everything from shadow accuracy, texture loading to how audio is handled by both the emulated system and physically connected
