Hyperdimension Neptunia V.II Now Available On Steam

Posted on July 5, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Idea Factory International’s latest fourth wall breaking, self referential JRPG Hyper Dimension Neptunia VII is now available on Steam for Windows PC. Neptunia VII sees the return of several key characters from the console wars of GamesIndustri – heroine Neptunia, medic Compa and Neptune’s little sister Nepgear. Neptunia VII brings several new features to the franchise including the ability for characters to link up for joint attacks allowing your party to reduce enemy stats and enter ‘Giant Battles’. Unlike other titles in the franchise VII actually tells three different interconnecting narratives across three different scenarios. I reviewed the PlayStation 4

Hard Reset Redux Review | An Amazing Example of What Remade Games Can Be

Posted on July 5, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

2011 was a big year for a lot of people. Many huge events happened that year, so it can be forgiven if you didn’t notice Flying Wild Hog publishing their love story to old school atmospheric cyber punk shooters, which they called Hard Reset. The game was a love story to the old slower paced atmospheric shooter. No regenerating health, a boat load of weapons, and a complex story that involves tons of cut scenes in a comic book style of narrative. Now they are back with Hard Reset Redux. This game has a story but if you asked me

TMARTN is in trouble, affiliation with CS:GOlotto.com revealed

Posted on July 4, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

We dont usually go in for drama here at Brokenjoysticks, but this particular story is honestly too egregious not to report on. I can not confirm any of this information personally, but I encourage you to watch both of the videos and give careful thought to what you do with your money. Seems like we cant go a week with out some fresh new drama popping up in the world of big money YouTube. Scandals seems to be as common as video content itself.  YouTuber Honor The call has published two videos where he alleges Trevor Martin (Tmartin) is running CS:GOlotto.com.  I

Will The New Radeon 480 Fry Your Motherboard? Probably Not

Posted on July 4, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

AMD’s latest graphics card – the Radeon 480  – promised the performance of Nvidia’s previous generation near top end Geforce 970 for the shockingly low $199 USD. After only a few days users began reporting that the 480 was drawing more power from the PCI-Express port than it was drawing from the power supply connector. Is this a harm to user’s machines? AMD has issued a statement along with a promise to address the issue with an upcoming driver update. I’ve been following the AMD Polaris architecture for months now and, of course, I got swept up into the hype surrounding the potential performance

Grand Kingdom (PS Vita) Review

Posted on July 3, 2016 by Erika

Grand Kingdom Logo
NIS America has released some of my more favorite strategy RPGs over the years with the Disgaea series, and now Grand Kingdom is one of those potential games. Instead of bogging down a player that wants to get into the game quickly with a long, sprawling story, it’s pretty straightforward. The player is the leader of a band of mercenaries and contracts out services to the highest bidder. When put like that, it doesn’t sound too intimidating of a game. The backstory consists of the land of Uldain being in turmoil due to four warring kingdoms, and mercenaries are trying

Posted on July 1, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Developers at Blizzard Entertainment aren’t wasting any time creating new content that will surely fill the nexus for the coming weeks or months. In the latest ‘in-development’ trailer we get a brand new look at two new heroes currently being finalized – Gul’dan and Auriel. New additions to the roster aside, Blizzard also showed off a number of new skins for existing heroes like Johanna and Mi-Ling as well as what will surely be at least two legendary skins. Do you Love VN’s? Now you can make your own with VN Maker!

Posted on July 1, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

If you know me, you know I am no stranger to Visual Novels (VN’s). I write news about them. I review them. My steam is full of them! So obviously I love VN’s.  I am obviously not the only one who is an admirer of the medium. Degica has decided to bring the experience of creating Visual Novels to Steam this summer.   The Makers Degica is no stranger to maker games, being responsible for the massive RPG maker series so loved by amateur game programmers. So i makes sense that they would publish a similar tool for Visual Novels.

The next Splatfest will also be the last

Posted on June 30, 2016 by Jason Nason

After fifteen Splatfests the folks at Nintendo are hanging up their ink guns. Nintendo announced today that the next Splatfest will be the last. The theme for the last Splatfest will be one that will surely be hotly debated, even moreso than the Pokémon themed one previously. Are you Team Callie or Team Marie? The showdown begins at 5:00 AM ET on Friday, July 22nd and will run until 5:00 AM ET on Sunday, July 24th. This is an extra special event as it will last two full days rather than the usual 24 hour contest.
