Valkyrie Drive Gets A Collector’s Edition Art Book

Posted on September 5, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Valkyrie Drive, the next title from the creators of Senran Kagura is set to land in North America soon and publisher Rice Digital. Not only does the game’s publisher promise that the game will “change the way you think about battle” but also promises “bouncy boob battles” (hey they’re fans of an abundance of absolute alliteration). Will Valkyrie Drive do anything to distance itself from the glaring and damning critiques of its spiritual processor has endured across various releases? We’ll wait on the final product to cast judgement on the game itself but if the newly announced special edition bonuses

September’s My Nintendo Rewards

Posted on September 4, 2016 by Jason Nason

You know, I’m just not sold on the benefits of My Nintendo. Sure there are some nice little things here and there, but on a whole I’m having a lot of trouble spending my coins. Not only on platinum and Miitomo coins, but also the gold coins. The rewards that you get for cashing in those coins really doesn’t seem worth it. This is coming as someone who is a huge Nintendo fan. I’m all about Nintendo and if you’ve ever seen my posts here or anywhere else it’s quite apparent. But is there anything new and exciting from My

Seeing double: Pair of Yo-Kai Watch games coming in Sepember

Posted on September 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

The first Yo-Kai Watch game was fantastic. I got my hands on a copy right away and immediately fell in love with the game. It was quirky, fun, and unique, and filled with so much detail and depth that there was just so much to do. And beyond that the world that was designed had so much detail that the exploration of the city and countryside, which was so much a part of the game, was fun to do. The sequels to that game, and yes I did use the plural of the word, are set to hit the Nintendo

New title Tank Troopers coming to 3DS in Winter 2016

Posted on September 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

In a game that feels reminicent of the GameCube title Battalion Wars, Nintendo announced a new digital exclusive title called Tank Troopers on Thursday during their Nintendo Direct. This newly announced game lets players customize their tank through special characteristics of tank-pilot Troopers, enabling abilities such as hitting enemies with a freeze attack, launching paint balls to block the opponents’ views or using electric shocks to stall rival tanks where they stand. The game will offer a six-person multiplayer mode, along with Download Play as well.

Enlist In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s Beta This October

Posted on September 3, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Activision will give players on PlayStation 4 preferential access to the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for those who pre-order the title. Xbox owners will get the multiplayer beta at a later date with PC players completely left out in the cold as the beta is “not available on PC. No mention of the multiplayer beta being open – looks like putting $5 down at a participating retailer is the only way in. Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer takes the class driven gameplay introduced in last year’s Black Ops III and expands upon it with the concept of “rigs”. Each “rig” is

New 30th Anniversary Legend of Zelda amiibo on the way

Posted on September 3, 2016 by Jason Nason

The Legend of Zelda is kind of a big deal. But if you’re here you already know that. During the Nintendo Direct on Thursday Nintendo announced some news about The Legend of Zelda. Not only is the newest game, Breath of the Wild, set for release on the Wii U and NX in March, but The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, previously released on the Wii console, launches for the Virtual Console service today in Nintendo eShop for Wii U. Plus we were reminded that the original game that launched the Zelda franchise will be included when the Nintendo Entertainment

Mario Party Star Rush is set to change the rules in the Mario Party series when it arrives on the Nintendo 3DS in November. Gone is the slow, turn-based gameplay and in is a fast paced, all out action fest. You’ll have to think fast and have a blast with the variety of ways to party with Mario, Toad and the rest of the Mario gang. Mario Party Star Rush will feature seven modes, including Toad Scramble, a mode with open maps to push your strategy, fast-paced mini-game gantlet Coinathon. There is also Mario Shuffle, in which players maneuver three

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero delayed six weeks

Posted on September 2, 2016 by Jason Nason

WayForward issued an update on the progress of their HD Shantae game, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and the news wasn’t happy news. The update is by no means dire, but the game is going to be delayed up to six weeks or more. Developers have stated that the delay is for bug fixing and adding additional polish, which is definitely a good thing. With the rush to get many games out these days, many games are released relatively unfinished. Day one patches aren’t at all uncommon. The release date has been pushed back from September 27th to sometime in mid-November. Still

Yoshi’s Woolly World threads onto the 3DS in 2017

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

In one of two announcements of Wii U games making their way to 3DS, Yoshi’s Woolly World is coming to the portable platform with a new experience. Called Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World, this version of the gorgeous Wii U game contains some new features, plus every stage available in the original. The new and exclusive new stages focus on Poochy. Players must time Poochy’s jump to collect beads, and Poochy Pups as they head for the goal. Poochy Pups are curious little helpers who jump on suspicious spots to indicate where players should look for secrets and collectibles. Nintendo

In one of two Wii U to 3DS conversions announced today, Nintendo is making a bite sized version of Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS! Now Nintendo 3DS owners will have access to a near-unlimited wealth of Super Mario courses to play! Players can also create courses with nearly all the tools available in the original Wii U version, along with interactive lessons. While courses can’t be

Mario Sports Superstars coming to 3DS in Spring 2017

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

Nintendo announced a new Mario Sports title headed to the 3DS next year in Mario Sports Superstars. I’ll be honest. I’m cautiously optimistic on this one. The last true entry to have Mario and company in the sports world was Mario Tennis for the Wii U, but my last experience in a multi-sports title on Nintendo’s portable was the recently released Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Sure the game was a lot of fun, but some of the limitations in character selection left a sour taste in my mouth. I’m hoping those past missteps aren’t repeated

Pikmin game for 3DS coming in 2017

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

Pikmin was one of those odd little games when it was first released for the GameCube but has gained something of a cult following. To be honest I’ve never played a full run through of any games in the series, though I’ve watched plenty of playthrough. And I did get to see and play the Pikmin attraction in NintendoLand. The series has been a mainstay on their home consoles, now Nintendo has announced that the franchise is coming to the Nintendo 3DS in 2017. The game, which has yet to be given a permanent name, is a new side-scrolling adventure

Ambition of the Slimes | REVIEW

Posted on September 1, 2016 by Jason Nason

If you’ve read any of my previous reviews for games in the genre, you’ll know that I enjoy turn based strategy role-playing games. I’ve played and loved playing games like Final Fantasy Tactics (and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) in the past, and more recently games like Fire Emblem Fates or Mercenaries Saga 2. So when I learned that Circle was making a spin off of Witch & Hero in this genre I jumped at the chance to check it out. Ambition of the Slimes is a great molding of the two. The game is very much a strategic role-playing game
