Long Time Blizzard Developer Chris Metzen Retires

Long time Blizzard Entertainment developer & current Senior Vice President in charge of Story and Franchise Development, Chris Metzen has retired from the world renowned developer. Originally reported by the Business Journal and later confirmed via a lengthy good-bye message posted to the Blizzard official forums on Chris’ behalf by Community Manager Lylirra. If you’ve even dabbled in a Blizzard Entertainment title since the company’s formative years in the 1990s then you’ve experienced some of Metzen’s work. Guardian Codex launching on mobile in the fall from Square Enix

Square Enix has announced a new free-to-play RPG for mobile devices. Fans of multiplayer mobile RPGs will soon be able to experience a new and futuristic twist to the genre with Guardian Codex. Guardian Codex is a new free-to-play RPG for iOS and Android devices featuring a deep story, console-quality 3D graphics, and an engaging multiplayer battle system. The game has been created by the team behind the popular card battle games Guardian Cross and Deadman’s Cross, which have surpassed eight million combined worldwide downloads. Guardian Codex brings players into an exciting new world featuring the familiar “Guardians.”

PS4 Pro Enhanced Announced, 4K Videos Available

Following last week’s PlayStation Meeting, Sony announced more details about the PS4 Pro. In addition to adding 4k game videos to their YouTube channel, Sony confirmed details concerning PS4 Pro Enhanced. Acting as a new labeling system for game releases, the new logo implies a game uses some or all of the features of the new console. As discussed last week, the Pro offers graphical enhancements to existing and upcoming PS4 titles. Enhanced will mean that a game takes advantage of any combination of these tweaks. Lightwood Games bringing Splat the Difference to 3DS on Thursday

Lightwood Games has announced that their next game headed to the Nintendo 3DS is Splat the Difference. While the game will be released on September 15th, the developer actually moved up the announcement of their new game earlier than planned. The game was added to the Nintendo eShop on Friday morning, which preemptively revealed the game before the developer could formally announce it themselves. Nintendo launching Kirby x Miitomo Retweet event and items

On September 15th Miitomo is going to get a little pink. And round. Nintendo is launching Kirby inspired items in the mobile app, and it kicks off with a retweet event. There will be no shortage of Kirby-themed items for your Mii character to wear so you can show off that Kirby flair!
