Nintendo Dropping EU Retail Orders For The Wii U Should Be Cause For Concern

Posted on September 23, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Wii U Production Stop
Word came out earlier today that retailers in the European Union have until the end of this month – just 7 days from now – to get their final orders in for Wii U hardware. None of this has been confirmed by Nintendo themselves but at least one twitter user corroborated the original GameSeek report that broke the story. With six months to go before Nintendo’s next generation console – code named NX – launches and no official reveal in sight this whole situation should be a little concerning. It is not uncommon for console manufacturers to ramp down production after the

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 | REVIEW

Posted on September 22, 2016 by Ellen McGrody

Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 follows up on its predecessors with a strange proposition. Imagine you’ve grown accustomed to driving a car without brakes. You hit other cars, you die, so you learn how to avoid doing so. You follow the road, you swerve correctly, you do fine, right? Then, one day, your car suddenly has brakes. And, when you hit other cars, it takes a couple hits before you actually crash. This would be disorienting, right? Because you’d have to completely relearn how to drive that car. In Pac-Man Championship Edition 2, Pac-Man literally has a brake button.   Pac-Man Championship

Blizzard to Drop Battle.net Branding

Posted on September 22, 2016 by Tamsin Heineman

Today a news post on the World of Warcraft home page details their plans to discontinue the Battle.Net branding. Blizzard plans to phase out the use of Battle.Net in favor of the Blizzard moniker. Instead of “Battle.Net Voice” for example, it would be “Blizzard Voice” after the change. They detail that the underlying technology and systems are not changing and they have no plans to discontinue any services. When we created Battle.net, the idea of including a tailored online-gaming service together with your game was more of a novel concept, so we put a lot of focus on explaining what the

Posted on September 22, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Remember the Pokemon TCG? For our readers in their late 20s, like myself, the Pokemon Trading Card Game might bring back memories of trading cards at recess and after school.  The latest expansion, the last in the X&Y line, celebrates the base set from 1999 but with a few new twists. With over 100 cards based upon those found in the original set Trainers can collect EX versions of Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur. These EX versions of gen 1 classic include 5 expansion specific mega evolution cards as well. In all honesty I haven’t played this game in about 16

Digital Homicide filing lawsuit against Valve

Posted on September 20, 2016 by Meghan Kass

Indie developer, Digital Homicide has been under hot water recently. The developer is currently looking to raise money and seek legal representation to sue steam users due to poor reception of their games. While Digital Homicide states they are fighting against harassment, Valve had a different perception. Digital Homicide has produced over a dozen games, such as Galactic Hitman (as pictured above), using the steam platform. These games have received numerous poor reviews and have gained the attention of the Steam community and YouTube personalities. They have been accused of using paid assets and having very little effort put into their

Yo-Kai Watch trading card game quietly released last month?

Posted on September 19, 2016 by Jason Nason

So today at my local Wal-Mart I happened upon booster packs for the Yo-Kai Watch collectible trading card game. I was taken by surprise as there has been virtually no news about the game aside from a very brief mention during a Nintendo Direct many months ago. And with the second game(s) coming to the Nintendo 3DS in less than two weeks I was a bit surprised that this release flew under the radar for me. And it seems like it has for the rest of the internet.
