The Amazing Spider-Man Web Rush Trailer

Posted on May 22, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Beenox’s latest Spider-Man game, a film tie-in for Sony’s upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man, has a brand new trailer highlighting one of the new mechanics – the Web Rush. Web Rush allows you to slow down time and make split second decisions like dodging an oncoming enemy or using your webshooters to tie-up a foe. It can even be used to pull of aerobatic feats while web-slinging around the environments. This mechanic really interests me, to my knowledge this is the first time a developer has tried to incorporate Spider-Man’s “Spidey Sense” into a game. For all of you non-nerds out

The Top 5 Songs That Would Get Me To Spend Money On Rock Band

Posted on May 21, 2012 by Andrew Minott

I have a love/hate relationship with Rock Band. That’s not exactly accurate. When it first came out, I hated it (because I hated Guitar Hero). Then in early 2008 I moved into a house with three other guys, and they all loved Rock Band. And then I did too. Now I haven’t touched it in two years, though I remember the time we spent together fondly. So really, my relationship with Rock Band is hate/love/sexless marriage. Those two years ago, I bought the Lady Gaga track pack (don’t judge me) and the AFI Crashlove pack (I SAID DON’T). Since then,

PAYDAY: The Heist and Left 4 Dead Collaboration Announced

Posted on May 21, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

Overkill Software’s PAYDAY: The Heist has long been compared to Valve’s Left 4 Dead. PAYDAY is basically L4D where the protagonists are a bunch of criminals rather than survivors, and the zombies have been replaced by policemen. The distinctions between the two may blend even further after the announcement of a “co-operative” initiative between PAYDAY and Left 4 Dead. Read on for the official announcement from Ulf Andersson, Overkill’s Game Director.

Wii U OS Details Leaked?

Posted on May 21, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Details surrounding the operating system Nintendo’s upcoming Wii-U have supposedly leaked online.  All of this information seems very tentative considering the fact that the poster mentioned that these details came from a “Version 4 development kit” that is supposedly a few months old. This information is supposedly two months old and may change considering the fact that the Wii-U is not expected to be released until October or November. The Wii-U’s OS will be reportedly one of the largest in console history clocking in at 512MB. Apparently the operating system run by the Wii-U has “never been seen before on

Posted on May 21, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

The launch of a brand new PlayStation platform and the WipeOut franchise almost go hand in hand. When the original PlayStation Portable launched in 2005 with the phenomenal WipeOut Pure followed by 2009s WipeOut Pulse. Even the PlayStation 3 got in on the action with 2008’s WipeOut HD. Does WipeOut’s formula of futuristic racing machines, hard hitting weapons and breakneck speed equal fun on Sony’s latest handheld? WipeOut 2048 like its predecessors brings the entire package to Sony’s new handheld. Just because the game is being placed on a Vita Game Card doesn’t mean that SCE LiverPool had to compromise

Posted on May 18, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Far Cry 3 left a pretty big impression on me when I saw it running at last year’s Ubisoft Press Conference at E3. It looks like everyone will be able to get their hands on the game later this summer on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. The multiplayer beta allows up to 16 players to compete in several modes including Deathmatch and the Firestorm mode, a mode based around the game’s fire physics. Ubisoft promises six playable classes will be available in the beta along with dozens of weapons. There are multiple ways for you to enter the beta.

Hitler’s Dog to play a major role in Iron Front

Posted on May 18, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

Deep Silver has just announced a novel multiplayer mode for X1 Software/AWAR’s upcoming WW2 tactical shooter Iron Front: Liberation 1944. The new mode, named “Assassinate the Blondie,” tasks two Soviet players with the job of killing Blondi, Hitler’s ever loyal German Shepherd. Two German players will naturally have to protect their Führer’s beloved pet. Doubtlessly, Blondi’s premature death would demoralize Hitler, and the repercussions would negatively affect the German war effort. It is unclear right now what Blondi will be doing. Will one of Hitler’s confidants be walking Blondi? Will Blondi be unleashed and aimlessly wandering about the map? Will
