Max Payne 3 | Review

Posted on May 23, 2012 by Eric Bastelak

It has been nine long years since we last left the Max Payne series, the thrilling cinematic franchise with a dark and twisting story. Max Payne invented one of the most imitated and never again perfected shooter mechanics, bullet time. When other series did it, it just didn’t feel right. Well move over Generic shooter two hundred and twenty billion, daddy is home and he’s going to show you what fun and challenge mean again.

Tony Hawk HD’s Soundtracks Transports Us Back To 2000

Posted on May 23, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Activision is set to take the Tony Hawk franchise back to its roots with this summer’s Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD. The game revisits a simpler time when racking up a high score and collecting letters actually meant something. Gameplay mechanics and level design aren’t the only thing lifted from the early 2000s, the game’s soundtrack will also transport you back an entire decade. Back in ’99 – ’01 when the first two Tony Hawk games were released back on the Dreamcast and original PlayStation Nu-Metal and rock bands where still king. Tony Hawk HD pays homage to these musical

Posted on May 23, 2012 by Andrew Minott

In a press release earlier today, Blizzard Entertainment announced that the launch of Diablo III has been the most successful of any PC game to date. In the first 24 hours, 3.5 million copies were sold at retail, with an additional 1.2 million copies acquired through Blizzard’s one-year promotional World of Warcraft commitment. Through the first week of availability, the number of sales reached 6.3 million. Diablo III unthroned previous sales champion, Blizzard’s own World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, which reached 3.3 million sales in the first 24 hours at its launch in December 2010.

New Panzer Corps DLC Released

Posted on May 23, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

Slitherine and Matrix Games have just announced the release of the Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’45 East DLC. This is the seventh DLC for Panzer Corps, the turn based strategy game by The Lordz Games Studio. As the name suggests, this DLC campaign focuses on the final months of the war from the German perspective. Things aren’t looking too good for the Wehrmacht as most of the maps take place in (then) German territories like Königsberg, Breslau, and Berlin. If you are unfamiliar with Panzer Corps, it is an excellent Panzer General clone. The vanilla campaign is fairly epic, but

You will find Steam keys for the Magicka collection hidden in our articles, Twitter, Steam group, or Facebook page. We’d like to thank Paradox Interactive for the free keys.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is being prepared for its third major update since launch, titled “Allies.” The primary feature of this update is a group finder, which will allow players to queue up for a group activity (Missions, Flashpoints, etc.) based on their role and have the game itself find companions for you. Bioware is also adding in more features to the Legacy system, first introduced in patch 1.2, which is a leveling mechanic that affects all of your characters on a server with rewarded perks and abilities based on your cumulative progress across all those characters. Gamersgate’s Ad-Supported Free Gaming Service Launches Soon

Posted on May 22, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

Gamersgate is launching VOID, a new ad-supported service, on the 28th of this month. VOID will offer people the chance to play free PC games at the cost of having to sit through a commercial every once in a while. Hopefully, the advertising is more palatable than the insufferable McDonalds ads I had to sit through between levels when playing a free copy of Far Cry a few years back. We don’t have a list of which PC Games will be available via VOID just yet, but we’ll keep you informed.

Posted on May 22, 2012 by Daniel Shannon

Deep Silver has just released a new trailer for X1 Software/AWAR’s upcoming tactical shooter Iron Front- Liberation 1944. The new trailer focuses on the might of German panzertruppen. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t include any footage of tank battles, which I suppose makes it softcore tank porn. Still, there are some impressive looking tanks rolling about. Read on for the trailer.

Aliens Colonial Marines Delayed Until 2013

Posted on May 22, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Interest in the Aliens franchise has peaked in recent weeks with the release of Ridly Scott’s in-universe prequel Prometheus only a few short weeks. It looks like the next big project involving the franchise, Gearbox Studio’s Aliens Colonial Marines, won’t make its anticipated Fall 2012 release. Instead the marines will deploy against the Xenomorph horde on February 12, 2013. Along with the announcement of the delay Gearbox Studios released a brand new trailer for the game alongside a statement from energetic and charismatic CEO Randy Pitchford.
