Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Now Available, Free on PSN+

Sega’s latest fighting game, Virtual Fighter V: Final Showdown, is now available on PlayStation network and Xbox live. This version of Virtual Fighter V is based upon recent changes that were brought to the arcade version and includes 19 characters, interactive arenas, a new training mode and eight player online matches. The game is priced at 14.99 USD (OR 1200 Microsoft points) and clocks in at around 2 GB. Persona 4 Arena Dated For August 7, Includes 2 Language Tracks

Atlus has finally revealed the North American release date for Persona 4: Arena, the 360/PS3 fighting game featuring characters from the Persona universe. the game will be available on August 7, 2012, making it an excellent treat for the end of the summer. As an added bonus the game will include both the original Japanese and English language tracks. The game was developed by long time fighting game developer Arc System Works whose previous works include the Guity Gear and BlazBlue Series.  I know a number of people on staff here broken joysticks are excited to play Persona 4 Arena.

Zombi U Detailed At E3

Ubisoft revealed more details for Zombi U, their Wii U-exclusive zombie title aimed at the hardcore audience. According to Ubisoft, “One bite and you’re dead”. The game features elements that employ use of the Wii U Gamepad, such as unique HUDs, hacking of doors, and aiming into the sights and scopes of various weapons. No release date was given.

Paper Mario, Luigi’s Mansion 3DS Coming This Holiday

Nintendo showed off their newest version of Paper Mario today at E3, titled Paper Mario: Sticker Star, as well as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon. Paper Mario works by collecting stickers throughout the world, which are used as battle commands. Luigi’s Mansion looks to play like the previous Luigi’s Mansion game launched in 2001. Both games were confirmed for a Holiday 2012 launch.

NintendoLand Announced At E3

Nintendo announced during their E3 Press Briefing a new title for Wii U, called NintendoLand. Developed to be the “game that makes you understand the Wii U,” Nintendoland is a party game that features your Mii exploring a Nintendo theme park, loaded with attractions and games to play that tie to various Nintendo franchises. Nintendo aims for the game to be fun for both multiplayer and single player gamers, and will tie in closely with Miiverse, Nintendo’s online community infrastructure. Lego City: Undercover Confirmed for Wii U

The previously announced Lego City for Wii U now has a subtitle: Undercover. Using the Wii U gamepad, players will be able to access special elements of the game, like communicating with mission leaders and finding criminals. You’ll also be able to assume various roles via disguises. The game has the known humor element that all Lego games have, and appears to be an open-world, HD title. In addition to the Wii U version, a 3DS version was confirmed.

Wii U Fit Announced

Nintendo confirmed today that the Wii Fit franchise is coming to Wii U. Wii Fit U will feature new ways to burn calories via new mini games, as well as the ability to upload data from a “Fit Meter”. The game can be fully played on the Wii U Gamepad, allowing for exercising to continue. My body is ready.

Scribblenauts Unlimited Announced For Wii U

Warner Bros. and 5th Cell announced the development of Scribblenauts Universe today, available on Wii U. The game plays like you’d expect a Scribblenauts game to, only in high-resolution. However, the world is more connected and available to explore this time around — and now features a new multiplayer mode. The story will finally reveal to gamers what’s behind Maxwell’s magical notebook.

Batman: Arkham City Confirmed for Wii U

Nintendo and Warner Bros. just announced Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition, exclusively for Wii U. The game will feature enhanced gameplay with the Wii U Gamepad, and fully playable Batman and Catwoman. New to the game is BAT mode, which is accessed via the Gamepad and will allow players to play the game in a whole new way. Pikmin 3 Detailed

Nintendo confirmed development of Pikmin 3 today, showing off the game for the first time. The game features full HD graphics and looks to star new forms of pikmin as they try to build bridges and other objects to help survive. The Last Of Us Demoed @ E3

Sony wrapped up it’s E3 press conference this evening by showing off the first in-game demo of Naughty Dog’s upcoming title The Last of Us. The demo featured the two main characters going through a high-budget destroyed hotel that was inhabited by enemies and included a ton of cringe-inducing gameplay elements, as both of the main characters helped each other survive by throwing bricks, stabbing enemies, and finally, introducing an enemy’s face to the barrel of a shotgun. The game appears to be very survival based, as the lead character’s health bar often took large hits from single shots. A

Wonderbook Announced for PS3

Sony announced today that Wonderbook will head to the PS3. The Wonderbook is a physical book that will be able to be used with the Playstation eye. The Wonderbook will be working with developers and storybook games. Moonbot Studios will be heading up developers to work on the book. Diggs Nightcrawler was also announced for the Wonderbook.
