A War of Roses Behind The Scenes Dev Diary

Paradox Interactive’s latest title War of the Roses, an  online historical action title has a brand new developer diary staring Senior producer Gordon Van Dyke and lead designer Mårten Stormdaas they travel the English countryside scouting out real life locations that influenced the development of the game. The game’s multiplayer mode allows players to customize their loadouts and classes featuring swords, shields but also  early flintlock weapons and crossbows. A War of Roses takes a bit of liberty with its recreation of English Civil War combat by adding flourishes and finishing moves that give the player sense of drama. Check

Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile Announced

Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile. This expansion pack for Serious Sam 3: BFE is set for a PC release in October. Croteam’s Davor Hunski claims that the expansion “tells more of Sam’s story and cranks up the insanity.” Having played through some of it, I’m surprised to learn that Serious Sam 3 had a story (other than “go kill these monsters”). Panzer Corps’ First Standalone Expansion Inbound

Slitherine and Matrix Games have announced the first standalone expansion for their turn-based wargame Panzer Corps, entitled Panzer Corps: Afrika Corps. As the name suggests, this expansion will put you in control of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel’s Deutsches Afrikakorps as you attempt to push Britain out of the Middle East. Particularly successful players will even have an opportunity to advance into British India. Grognards will get a chance to outshine the Desert Fox once the expansion is released on the 31st of this month. Walking Dead FPS Announced By Activision

Activision will be publishing a first person shooter based upon AMC’s The Walking Dead television show the publisher announced today. The game is due out in 2013 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC and should not be confused with TellTale Game’s series of adventure games based upon the Walking Dead graphic novels. Phantasy Star Online 2 Launches In North America Next Year

SEGA’s Phantasy Star Online 2 launched in Japan over the July 4th holiday and the amount of buzz in the western gaming press has been more than impressive. SEGA of America confirmed this morning through press release that PSO 2 will be published in North America on Windows PC sometime in 2013. PSO2  features 3 different classes for players to choose from – magic users, to ranged combat and hand to hand melees. The Rooster Teeth Expo was held this past weekend and it wouldn’t be an RT event without something Halo. 343 industries brought along the latest Halo 4 multiplayer build and several matches where showcased at RTX 2012. Two different videos where uploaded from the expo including a 6 minute segment on the map Longbow and an 11 minute Q&A after the match. PlayStation All-Stars Set For October Release

Sony’s take on the “mascot brawler” sub-genre, first popularized by Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros series, PlayStation All-Stars, will release in the United States and Canada on October 23rd, 2012 for PS3 and Playstation Vita the company confirmed this afternoon via the Playstation Blog. In addition to the release date information they also announced a series of pre-order exclusive costumes for Nathan Drake, Sly Cooper and the gang. No other information surrounding the costumes, like which retailers will have them (presumably they will be split up amongst Best Buy/Gamestop and Futureshop) or if they will available after release was made available.

Persona 4 Arena Character Move Videos

Atlus have released a series of short one minute tutorial videos for upcoming fighter Persona 4: Arena. These videos showcase some basic moves for each character -you’ve got your charged, heavy and air attacks naturally, but they also showcase some of the crazy combos that are capable as you build up your meter.
