Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC Dated

Bioware has just announced that the next single player DLC for Mass Effect 3 called Leviathan will be released on August 28th 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Those with a PS3 in Europe will have to wait an extra day for the release.Cost is $10 or 800 Microsoft points.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Adopts Dog and Release Date

Metal Gear Rising
Early this morning, Konami premiered a trailer for the latest title in the Metal Gear saga. Metal Gear Rising Revengeance finaily has a concrete release date after years of lingering in devolpment limbo, with the previously mentioned 2013 release date now seeing Raiden slicing into stores February 19. In a mostly repurposed trailer from E3, Konami showed the more emotional side of the upcoming action extravaganza by showing the bond between a cyborg and his mechanical mutt.

Dead Space 3 Scares Up Release Date and Trailer

Gamescom brings a brand new trailer for the upcoming Dead Space 3 that looks to assuage fears that there won’t be any scares in the game with plenty of quick cuts to hulking monsters. This notes the first time that fears have been calmed by giant dismembered beasts swaying toward you in a predatory fashion. Dead Space 3 will hit the PC, PS3 and 360 on February 5 in the North America and February 8 in Europe. PSOne Classics Come To Vita With Firmware 1.8

During GamesCom Sony took the wraps off of firmware version 1.8 for the PlayStation Vita. Before you groan and mumble *not another firmware update* you should know that this update adds a few highly requested features including the ability to play PS One classics on the system. New Naval Warfare Trailer For Assassin’s Creed III Sets Sail

It seems like just yesterday I was expressing my excitement over AC3’s naval warfare and today we already have a new trailer for the seafaring combat! As Connor, you’ll lead your crew through rough waters and into battle against enemy ships. This interests me most of all being a fan of Skies of Arcadia which while AC3 isn’t an RPG, the naval combat tactics of coming alongside your enemy and releasing a barrage of cannon fire ring true. Playing out this kind of engagement sounds fantastic and set in the American Revolution AC3 is shaping up to be an amazing sequel. [youtube

Register For The Sim City 5 Closed Beta

Sim City 5‘s closed beta will begin sometime soon and EA is now ready to take applications. Head on over to the official Sim City Beta Site and you too can throw your hat in the ring as a prospective mayor. You’ll need an origin account, also be prepared to read a few dozen pages of legalese and submit your computer specs before being considered for the beta. Sim City 5 is due out sometime in early 2013 for PC. No word yet if Mac players will be included in the upcoming beta, sadly.

Winners Of The 2012 Pokémon World Championship

This past weekend the Play! Pokémon season wrapped up in Waikoloa, Hawaii at the 2012 Pokémon World Championships. Six champions rose to be the worlds best Pokémon trading card game and video game players. Hundreds of players from 30 countries were in attendance. Each player began almost a year ago competing in the Play! Pokémon season sanctioned by The Pokémon Company International. Killzone Mercenary Coming To PS Vita

The Killzone franchise is coming to the PlayStation Vita in the near future (presumably 2013) with the announcement of Killzone Mercenary. Sony showcased a brief live action/gameplay trailer during their media presentation. This is just pure speculation but the live action showcases a mercenary making his way through what seems to be an industrial facility. On the gameplay front we see the same character (we presume) performing brutal neck snaps and ranking up experience points for every kill.
