Xbox Live owners can join the virtual fight, and download Medal of Honor: Warfighter‘s free, open beta. The beta allows you to play in a two-man squad, and contains lots of explosions and gunfire. Considering that DICE, the team behind the Battlefield franchise, is also working on Warfighter, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the visuals and sounds are fantastic as always. Mass Effect 3 Gets A Massive Multiplayer Expansion

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Joshua Rust

Just when you thought the universe couldn’t get any bigger in Mass Effect 3, Bioware/EA comes out of nowhere and announces a new multiplayer expansion (called Mass Effect 3: Retaliation) that lands on October 9th. But what is included in this, the biggest multiplayer expansion yet, you may ask? Well, there are 6 new maps, 16 new characters, new enemy type: The Collectors, new weapons to collect, new “challenge” feature, and each map will receive “environmental hazards” to make things a little tougher. Nintendo Announces 3DS Digital Releases for 2012

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Jeff Wade

Nintendo fans in America might not have gotten the fancy broadcast and official Nintendo Direct that their European breathren received  but  NoA outlined their 3DS digital release for the rest of the year this afternoon. The biggest surprise came in a sequel to the eShop’s best game Pushmo in the form of Crashmo, coming November 22. The sequel keeps the same pushing and pulling puzzle mechanics, but blocks will fall out from under others offering a twist on the first game’s mechanics. Previously announced Fluidity: Spin Cycle and NightSky will also hit the eShop this year. Three of the four games in Level

Medal of Honor Warfighter Open Beta This Weekend

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

Still sitting on the fence about EA’s Medal of Honor Warfighter? An open Beta for Xbox Live gold members will go live tomorrow morning and last until Sunday. For Canadians, like me, this means a Thanksgiving filled with bullets, kills and certainly swearing teenagers over Xbox Live headsets. The beta features a territories style gameplay mode called ‘Hospot’. This mode has two opposing teams rushing to secure moving control points, similar to a king of the hill match. Only one map will be playable in the beta, ‘Sarajevo Stadium’, which takes place in Bosnia. Will you be gearing up to

Hitman: Absolution | Introducing The Kill

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Jesse Lord

IO Interactive, developers of Hitman: Absolution, have released another “INTRODUCING” video, this time showing all of us the multifarious ways in which we can dispatch our targets.  True to the assassin’s code, killing is very easy, but the rub is getting away without being found or accused.  Some people might like going in guns-blazing and leaving no one left to ask questions or make accusations, but others might like making things look like an accident.  Perhaps others would take a complete stealth approach, getting alone with the target, relieving him or her of their life and disposing of the body

Cliff Bleszinski Is Saying Goodbye To Epic Games

Posted on October 3, 2012 by Seung Lee

The co-founder of Epic Games, the company behind the Gears of War and Unreal Tournament franchises, Cliff Bleszinski, is finally leaving his comfy office seat. It seems that, like Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka of BioWare, Bleszinski is deciding to write a new chapter in his life story. Founder of Epic Games Tim Sweeney states, “In 20 wonderful years with Epic, Cliff Bleszinski has grown into a true design luminary, and his contributions to the Unreal and Gears series have helped shape the game industry into what it is today. Cliff leaves Epic with our gratitude for his many contributions, and our

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Will Live Up To Its Name

Posted on October 2, 2012 by Seung Lee

While Capcom’s Monster Hunter games have always been praised more for their gameplay, rather than their graphics, it seems as though that’ll change for the upcoming Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. MH3U will apparently be running in 1080p and supporting 5.1 channel sound, which is actually revolutionary for the series. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is set to release on the Wii U and 3DS, sometime in March next year. The Wii U version will include online play via Nintendo Network servers, but the 3DS won’t. Check out Tale Tale Source for the source, if you can read Japanese.

While there is no official release date on this, Bioware has stated that its tentative date is this Thursday. So I guess we will know when we pop in Mass Effect 3 and see the update huh? The list, as I stated before, is very long. So check after the jump for the list.

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have released the second FINAL HOURS Episode, titled Origins of a Story, today.  This video series focuses on Tomb Raider and it gives a behind-the-curtain look at the different game development processes and procedures as they get closer and closer to retail release.  This episode specifically focuses on character design and creation.  It features never-before-seen footage from the game, it is hosted at San Diego Comic-Con’s Nerd HQ by none other than the nerd-cred-certified Zachary Levi.  It features lead writer Rhianna Pratchett, narrative designer John Stafford, and creative director Noah Hughes.  They all speak about

Dead or Alive 5 | Review

Posted on October 1, 2012 by Jason Fayta

Version tested:  PlayStation 3 Dead or Alive 5 (hereafter DOA5) is now available on consoles, almost seven years after the previous installment, and it doubles as the series’ debut on PlayStation 3. You have to go all the way back to the year 2000 when Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore graced the PlayStation 2 for the last entry on Sony’s hardware. But before I get too far into the review, I want to talk a little about the father of Dead or Alive, Tomonobu Itagaki. Tomonobu Itagaki, creator and former lead of Team Ninja, unceremoniously resigned from Tecmo (now Tecmo Koei)

We Will See a Vita Price Drop Next Year

Posted on October 1, 2012 by Rae Michelle Richards

I think almost everyone can tell that the PlayStation Vita needs a bit of a boost in terms of recognition and sales performance. When your previous handheld outsells its’ successor months after launch, there is clearly a problem. Sony is aware of the marketing problems plaguing their handheld and they promise to address them, next year. Speaking to Eurogamer, Sony VP, Fergal Gara, essentially confirmed that the device will see a reduction sometime next year. Sony seems committed to the current Vita initiatives such as the recently released Little Big Planet, next month’s Playstation Battle Royal and the upcoming Assassin’s
