The race towards the next-generation is heating up, and whether or not Sony or Microsoft will acknowledge it, gamers will get their first tastes of their next home consoles in just a few short weeks with Sony’s “see the future” press event in New York City. Out of Kotaku comes a huge expose exploring some of the options developers are playing with in regards to the Xbox 720/ Xbox Durango (henceforth referred to as simply ‘Durango’). We already knew a ton about the innards of the machine, powered by a custom AMD APU, but we didn’t really know about mandatory

Metal Gear Rising Will Be Wonderful On Your Dark Days

Posted on February 12, 2013 by Eric Bastelak

Konami has released a wonderful new Metal Gear Rising trailer. It reminds me that regardless of financial difficulties I need to buy this game. Because no matter how dark the world seems there is something serene about hacking enemies to pieces. Call it morbid, call it whatever you want. Games are an interactive medium that help us gamers blow off steam. In my experience something like Rising will allow me to reduce stress, therefore causing less anger. What I love about this trailer is it shows just how much Konami gets this side of gaming culture. Right on Konami!

Posted on February 11, 2013 by Broken Joysticks

We mentioned last week about the Injustice Battle Arena site where fans get to vote who would win in a battle. The first week battles are over (Batman vs Bane and Wonder Woman vs Harley Quinn). The next week battles have been confirmed and Shazam, who was leaked a few week back has been confirmed as a playable character as he is matched up in the second week taking on The Flash. With Billy Batson’s inclusion this completes the list of characters from DC who were in Mortal Kombat vs DC (minus Darkseid). Also for week two The Joker will

Codemasters Gives Us a Sneak Peak at GRID 2 With New Teaser

Posted on February 8, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Get your wheels spinning with a bit of a tease for Codemaster’s GRID 2. A very brief glimpse of gameplay was released on the company’s official YouTube channel with a promise of a full trailer next week, on Feb 14. The new trailer only gives us a brief 44 second look at the game. We do see some pretty neat effects in action, including some rather convincing smoke effects – which at least impressed me. Honestly, it’s hard to tell with all of those fades to black going on. Sigh, I guess will just have to wait for the full trailer to

Is the Next Xbox Anti-Consumer?

Posted on February 7, 2013 by Joshua Rust

It’s not often that I like to express myself on rumors; with that being said, this one has floated around for a while: the elimination of used games. Now before you go grabbing your pitchforks and go on a witch hunt (keep them at arms reach though), this has not been confirmed by either Sony or Microsoft that it’s true.

Travel Back To Base Camp In This Tomb Raider Video

Posted on February 6, 2013 by Joshua Rust

It’s officially less than a month until the release of one the most anticipated games on my list: Tomb Raider. While I’m not overly thrilled with the inclusion of multiplayer to a single player franchise, I won’t completely off it until I’ve played it. In this new video that was released today from Square Enix & Crystal Dynamics, Lara will show you how upgrading your stats and weapons will allow further exploration into the island. As well as detailing what Base Camp offers you in means of interacting with other characters and upgrading Lara herself. [youtube id=”u-glIhFqXMg” width=”600″ height=”350″] Are
