Gamestop CEO Says ‘Xbox 720’ Is HOT!

Posted on April 3, 2013 by Joshua Rust

And no, we don’t mean Red Ring Of Death hot either.  According to GameIndustry, who spoke with the Gamestop CEO over a earnings call, the retailer has been hand in hand with Microsoft and their unannounced next-gen console. J. Paul Raines, the aforementioned CEO, had lots of positive things to say about Microsoft’s next console. Which is certainly great news for us as consumers. Especially regarding the “no used games” rumors that have set the gaming community on fire. I have my own thoughts on that as well if you care to take a gander. But to me this means that the

God of War: Ascension | Review

Posted on April 2, 2013 by Jason Fayta

Kratos, the ever affable hero hell-bent on murdering every creature and god from Greek mythology, returns to ascend to new levels of brutality in God of War: Ascension, the second God of War installment on the PlayStation 3, after the 2010 release of God of War III. Serving as a prequel for the entire series, the story in God of War: Ascension predates the events found in the PSP title, God of War: Chains of Olympus. A brief prologue introduces the Primordials, beings who antecede both the Titans and Mount Olympus; they created the Earth by throwing down, Supreme Being

Microsoft’s April Fool’s Day Sale Is No Joke

Posted on April 1, 2013 by Joshua Rust

For today and today only, yes on April Fool’s Day, Microsoft is offering a pretty nice price cut on some DLC, Season Passes, and a Games On Demand game. Normally, I really hate even posting news on April Fool’s Day because I don’t get into that kind of thing but this is legit and you need to act now as these savings only last today. Ranging from Assassin’s Creed 3, Fallout 3, Battlefield, Dishonored, & The Amazing Spider-Man, there is just about something for everyone. Granted it’s not a huge sale, but if you’ve been holding out on that Assassin’s

Posted on April 1, 2013 by Les Major

Update: Not that this one wasn’t obvious, but this was an April Fools joke. Fantasy worlds will eventually develop fast food franchises however. Just imagine the menus! There’s no inquisition in the new Dragon Age game. However, there are dragons that the world just has nothing to do with. So what does a medieval fantasy world do with so much meat? Open a Quiznos of course! In Dragon Age 3 gamers will experience the thrill of owning their own franchise and serving up a bevvy of tasty treats to the games various characters! Now with the new Frostbite 3 engine

Dragon Age 3 And Next Mass Effect Using Frostbite 3

Posted on March 31, 2013 by Les Major

Remember that absolutely beautiful Battlefield 4 video we saw just last week? Well the general manager for Bioware Edmonton and Montreal Aaryn Flynn has confirmed Dragon Age 3 and the next Mass Effect will use the same engine! This is definitely amazing news! The characters, details and realisim level in the Battlefield 4 video are stunning. Even the video itself was produced more like a short movie told from a first person perspective. Of course that doesn’t mean the other games will be first person, just that they’ll be potentially as beautiful. Hopefully this means other EA titles will be

Posted on March 30, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Our PlayStation Plus contest has come to an end. I apologize in taking an extra 12 hours in getting these winners out. Without further-a-do our two winners are Matt Bassett, who entered via email, and Terry WIlliams (aka @Moononite on twitter) who re-tweeted our original post. Look for more giveaways coming very soon. March may be coming to an end but we still have several ARMA III codes and a few Steam games, so let’s extend

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

Fans of the Darksiders series may still have hope yet as Crytek USA looks into buying the franchises rights. Crytek USA is company made up of past employees of Vigil, the studio who created Darksiders in the first place. I definitely hope Darksiders ends up back with it’s creators so we can see the natural intended progression of the series. Final bids on Darksiders and several other THQ series such as Red Faction and Homeworld are due by April 15th. MX is also being sold seperately like the previously mentioned titles while two bundles of additional titles are being sold

Injustice: Gods Among Us On The Wii U GamePad

Posted on March 29, 2013 by Les Major

At the recent WB Interactive press event we attended to check out Injustice I was able to confirm the role the Wii U GamePad would play NetherRealm’s new fighter. Fortunately it’s quite a solid concept mainly focusing on displaying your characters special moves on the view screen. This is a great way to keep you in the action and allow reference at a quick glance. Gamers can also switch from TV to GamePad play if they wish, allowing for play on the controllers screen. Otherwise the Wii U version will control like it’s PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts. I unfortunately
