Hot off the heels of the Xbox One announcement, Electronic Arts has revealed the latest entry in their long running racing franchise, Need For Speed: Rivals. The game is destined for next generation platforms, like the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as current gen machines.  Developed by Critereon Games (of 2010 Need For Speed and the Burnout Franchise) will be handling development duties targeting a November 19th release for the current generation consoles and “later this year” for next-gen. Need For Speed: Rivals is powered by D.I.C.E’s impressive Frostbite 3.0 engine, which has allowed Critereon to craft a visually

Top Reasons Why Pokemon Is Everything Wrong With Modern Gaming

Posted on May 21, 2013 by Broken Joysticks

So let’s talk Pokémon. There has been much made of the recent announcement of Pokemon X & Y ,  And I have to say that I’m really excited for the newest generation to come out and breathe new life into to this franchise. But this being said it got me thinking, never a good thing, about gaming in general and more importantly about how the modern games industry and how it relates to Pokémon. That is when I realized that Pokémon is actually a microcosm of everything that wrong with modern gaming today, seriously, everything people complain about in modern

Microsoft has revealed the next generation Xbox, now known as Xbox One, clearly Redmond means business because they are coming out with the bat swinging. Not only did we see the console, controller and dashboard within the first six minutes of the presentation but the console maker also featured the ability to watch television instantly. Xbox One’s theme appears to be “instant”, giving the user the ability to switch between the dashboard, live television, movies and internet search with just a few words. The console’s user interface is rather familiar, looking strikingly similar to the Metro style featured in the

New Pokémon In Latest X and Y Trailer

Posted on May 20, 2013 by Les Major

The continuation of the Pokémon series is looking great, and now it looks like you can ride on at least one Pokémon in this new 3D world. Nintendo is really improving this sequel, making both battles and the world you’ll explore into a seemingly fully 3D experience. Of course this only helps to show off the tech of the 3DS however it really looks like quite a surprising improvement over a series that was already looking better and better.

Vol’jin: Shadows of the Horde Novel On The Way

Posted on May 20, 2013 by Les Major

Fresh from our review of Christie Golden’s fantastic Jaina Proudmoore story, we’re happy to announce that the next physical Warcraft novel is on the way. This time, author Michael A. Stackpole is tackling a story focused on Vol’jin, leader of the Darkspear trolls. Considering the inclusion of Vol’jin and other disgruntled Horde members in the Tides of War book, this does seem like a natural progression for readers.

Neverwinter Astral Diamond Exchange Down

Posted on May 20, 2013 by Les Major

UPDATE: It has been announced that there will be a roll back. Progress made between 5:20 AM and 12:20 PM Pacific Time will be lost to all players. The Neverwinter team does apologize for this and plans to send players a gift for this issue. In unfortunate news today, Neverwinter has hit it’s first big snag. Due to an exploit it seems the astral diamond exchange and the auction house were taken offline. Currently the ‘shard’ servers for the game are all offline. This is a big problem to the legitimacy of the game since astral diamonds, one of the

Electronic Arts Kisses Online Passes Goodbye

Posted on May 15, 2013 by Joshua Rust

This could quite possibly be some of the best news I’ve heard in quite a while in regards to Electronic Arts (EA). It’s been known for quite a while that EA’s upcoming game Fuse will not require an Online Pass to play the multiplayer component of the game, but who knew that EA was actually listening to its fan base (for lack of a better word) when we say that Online Passes suck! According to a recent interview with GamesBeat,  EA senior director of corporate communications John Reseburg, told them that, “Yes we’re discontinuing Online Pass. None of our new titles

Dark is in development over at Realmforge Studios, which is located in Munich, Germany and is being published by Kalypso Media (who just happens to own Realmforge Studios as well). Dark puts you in the shoes of Eric Bane, a newly turned vampire who has no recollection of how he came to be a vampire. He sets off with his new found vampire powers in pursuit of his lost memories and to find out just what the heck is going on. There are various ways to go about playing Dark and obviously being a vampire, stealth is one of those choices…
