Sonic: The Lost World Gameplay Footage Released

Posted on June 12, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

A few weeks ago we brought you the news that Nintendo has secured the exclusive rights to future Sonic the Hedgehog titles. The first such title, Sonic The Lost World takes cues from both Mario Galaxy and the IOS free to play game Sonic Dash. In this game Sonic is propelled forwards at a constant rate, similar to Sonic Colors, but he also must travel between floating islands, filled with staple items from the Sonic series, such as rings and boost pads. Check out a brief game play video, originally found on GameTrailers after the jump.

As we mentioned earlier here  two characters were shown with the first images of Super Smash Brothers on both 3DS and Wii U. Another character you wouldn’t even begin to imagine has also join the brawl. Below you can view the trailer for the character as well as the developer diary from Masahiro Sakurai himself. Monolith Soft Developing Open World Xeno Series Game

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Les Major

Seemingly titled X, Monolith Soft is working on a new game that seems to be in or related to the Xenoblade series. This game is an open world title that looks like it has lots of exploration in a wonderful and detailed world. I’m definitely interested in seeing how this one turns out. Of course, all of Nintendo’s main news is awesome, but X was a pleasant surprise! Check out the trailer after the break for a look at the wild world outdoors, a futuristic city, and even humanoid mecha from the game.

No really! Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Peach are all playable characters in Nintendo’s latest Super Mario title. Which of course is the cast of the North American version of Super Mario Bros. 2. The game even features a new cat power up that allows Mario to scratch enemies and climb walls! Check out the trailer after the break to see the crowning touch on this new power up at the end of the video.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Reborn E3 Trailer

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Link’s debut on Nintendo’s latest home console is of course an HD port of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. The game was announced last summer, and Nintendo gave us a four minute trailer during their E3 Direct live-stream earlier this morning. Unlike other Wiiu games, which were straight ports of older titles, this version of The Wind Waker has been substantially upgraded. New textures, bloom lighting and other graphical touches that weren’t on the GameCube really breathe new  life into this nearly 10 year old game. Wind Waker Reborn will run in native 1080P, features Nintendo Gamepad integration (replacing

The First Look At Super Smash Bros for Wii U / 3DS

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

We’ve waited two years to get our first glimpse at Super Smash Bros for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Wait no longer because during their E3 Direct live-stream Nintendo showed off not one but two trailers featuring gameplay from both versions. We don’t know about any content difference between the two games but the 3DS version has a very distinct cell shaded style, while the Wii U version looks like Super Smash Bros Brawl on current-generation HD steroids. In terms of gameplay, it’s pretty similar to previous games in the franchise – at least from the four or so

Mario Kart 8 Slides On To Wii U In Spring 2014

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Equip your best turtle shell and get ready to practice your power slide because Mario Kart 8 for the Nintendo Wii U has been announced. The latest entry in the long running franchise is set for release during the Spring of 2014! Mario Kart 8 on the surface looks like an amalgamation of Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7. Motorcycles and hang gliders return from each respective game but that isn’t the only trick NIntendo has up its sleeve. A new anti-gravity mechanic allows Mario, Yoshi, Peach & Crew to race along the walls, underwater and even upside down

Pokemon X & Y Will Release Worldwide on October 12th

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Gotta Catch ‘Em All Right? That’s the slogan that the Pokemon franchise has used for years, to remind us that we are all helpless slaves to the latest version of Nintendo’s monster catching RPG. Be prepared to enter the world of Pokemon once again with the latest entries Pokemon X & Y, which Nintendo revealed will be available worldwide starting October 12th. More gameplay details surrounding the titles also surfaced during this morning’s E3 Direct live stream including the inclusion of a new ‘fairy type’. Only one new pokemon was mentioned for this type, an Eevee evolution known as Slyveon,

Bungie Showcases First Gameplay For Destiny

Posted on June 11, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

At Sony’s E3 press conference last night former Halo developers, Bungie, took the stage to show off their latest title, the persistent online world of Destiny. They also released a brief three minute trailer this morning, if you’d like a condensed look at how the game will run on the PlayStation 4.  Bungie’s E3 demonstration is great, though, featuring over ten minutes of never before seen gameplay. There’s lots of large flashy guns, sci-fi enemies oh and our first look at how instances (called ‘Public Events’) will work in Destiny. The world of Destiny takes you hundreds of years into the

Sony Shocks The Gaming World With $399 PS4 Price

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Andrew House could have just dropped his microphone and walked away from the end of the 2 hour PlayStation E3 press conference, after announcing that the PlayStation 4 will retail for $399 USD. Sony has single handedly given themselves a giant advantage over Microsoft, whom this morning priced their console at $499. It’s almost as if this end of conference surprise makes up for the “$599 U.S Dollars” controversy seven years ago. Sony’s execs also took shots at Microsoft by announcing, via slides, that their console will support used games, has no online activation or the need to “phone home”

No You’re Not Dreaming, Square Enix Announces Kingdom Hearts III

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Square Enix surprised everyone with a “wait one more moment”, announcing a sequel that everyone has been waiting 8 years for. No, I’m not talking about a remake of Final Fantasy VII, based off of the 2006 tech demo, but the return of Sora and Mickey Mouse in Kingdom Hearts 3. Details are scant, we don’t know much about the game except that it will debut on the PlayStation 4 at some point in the future. Check out the first trailer after the jump, oh and make sure you bring a change of pants.

PlayStation 4 Console Design Revealed

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Sony Executive Andrew House took the stage just moments ago to announce the console design for the PlayStation 4. Gamers have been waiting since February to see the design of the console, which may sit under their televisions in just a few short months. Honestly, my first reaction, is that the console looks like a beefed up PlayStation 2. This isn’t a bad thing, Sony asking us to call back to a time when they dominated the console market isn’t a bad thing, perhaps the PS4 will catapult them back to the front of pack. Check out an up close

Battlefield 4 Takes To The ‘Angry Sea’ At E3

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Les Major

I’ve been impressed already with how the Frostbyte 3 engine handled the Fishing In Baku video DICE and EA released which could in itself be a short movie. At E3, they’ve created another featurette called Angry Sea which features gameplay footage of a naval level of the game. After aquiring the intel they needed, the team is forced out into rough seas to head towards their escape. This happens after the ship they are in splits in two, revealing the hallway before them breaking away as the ship separates. It could seemingly have been an aircraft carrier, as you soon

Remedy Looking To Make Time Stand Still With Quantum Break

Posted on June 10, 2013 by Les Major

Remedy won me over with Alan Wake. Every E3 in recent memory, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the lights to go out and the familiar, “Last time on Alan Wake,” announcement to resound throughout the Xbox press event. So it was a sad thing to hear Remedy was putting Alan Wake aside for Quantum Break. However, this new IP does look very promising and it is from a team I now trust to deliver an excellent gaming experience. It sounds like Quantum Break is very much about decisions you make and how they affect the outcome of the game. Our hero,
