If My Heart Had Wings | Review

Posted on August 27, 2013 by Les Major

Having only had experience with dating sim style games in the past and not really a full visual novel like If My Heart Had Wings was a treat I wasn’t expecting. Instead of a choose your own adventure style dating game, players are given more of an episodic anime like feel as they experience the story. Over the course of the many hours the game spans, there are very brief decisions to be made. Think of this more like an extended dialogue session in a Disgaea game or such. You’re watching still characters, with occasional changes to emphasize emotion, with

Siege of Orgrimmar Coming Soon To WoW

Posted on August 27, 2013 by Les Major

As many of you know, I was a huge fan of the Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War novel by Christie Golden. Unsurprisingly the events in that book and seemingly the following title Vol’jin Shadows of the Horde (I haven’t read it yet but it does seem to fit the current WoW story) fit into actual World of Warcraft lore. Odds are if you’re reading this, you’re already a big WoW fan anyway, but if you’ve been out of the game for awhile the info below may contain spoilers. Or if nothing else, a good glipse at the future of Azeroth.

The sly release wasn’t even about the game but moreso about The Legend of Zelda symphony series and added content for the concert in Seattle. That performance takes place on September 12th. The date announced for the game’s HD re-release is October 4th. Microsoft Retires Microsoft Points Today

Posted on August 27, 2013 by Jason Nason

Today is the day. Microsoft has now officially switched from using Microsoft Points for purchasing downloadable games and content to real world currency. The switch will happen across all Xbox Live regions and will automatically convert any existing balance or newly-entered Points card into your local currency. The Xbox Live Marketplace now lists all prices in local currency instead of points as well, and Microsoft reports on its official site that all Points converted to currency will be valid until June 1, 2015 (but “the currency you purchase and add to your account after the transition will not expire”). Posted on August 25, 2013 by Jason Nason

Activision announced last week that Skylanders figures outsold all action-figure properties in the U.S. and Europe so far in 2013. The property outpaced all toy properties overall in the U.K. year-to-date as of June 30, 2013 according to a release from Activision. The Skylanders franchise has generated more than $1.5 billion in worldwide retail sales since the release of the first Skylanders game and figures in 2011. “We began something very special with Skylanders and the magic of bringing toys to life through a video game,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO, Activision Publishing. “But it’s not just about the game. GTA V’s Brief Appearance on PSN Leads To Leak of Soundtrack

Posted on August 25, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

RockStar’s next open world crime game, Grand Theft Auto V, appeared on the European PlayStation network as in an unplayable pre-load state for those who have digitally purchased the title. This practice is not new, digital only services like Steam have been offering pre-load as an option for years, allowing gamers to jump right in when a title releases at midnight. Gamer’s eagerly started sifting through the digital pre-load files and have dug up a few interesting things.  They’ve identified six different radio stations – Non-Stop Pop FM, SoundWax FM, Radio Los Santos, Punk Station, Classic Rock, West Coast Classics
