3D Remastered Sonic the Hedgehog on the Way

Posted on December 3, 2013 by Jason Nason

The next game coming in the SEGA 3D Classics series for the 3DS eShop has been revealed and it’s Sonic the Hedgehog from the Sega Genesis. The first two games in the set were released just last week in 3D Space Harrier and 3D Super Hang-On. Sonic seems like the next logical step to get the 3D treatment. The game is likely still a ways off from being released, but SEGA put up a lenghty blog post today with an interview from the developers of the project. Yousuke Okunari, a producer at SEGA, had this to say about the project

Starbound Beta Available Tomorrow

Posted on December 3, 2013 by Les Major

What is Starbound? Imagine having randomly created worlds to explore that you can visit in your space ship in a Terraria like fashion of gameplay. Creatures and weapons are even procedurally generated to give the alien worlds a truly unexpected and explorable feeling. On top of that, of course you can build your own structures like in Terraria and Minecraft. Sound fantastic? We certainly think it sounds like it! There’s even quests to complete to keep you busy. Currently Starbound is available to pre-order on both the main Starbound website and on the newly created Humble Store (by the creators

Skylanders Swap Force | Review

Posted on December 3, 2013 by Les Major

One of the biggest misconceptions of Skylanders is that it’s a game just for kids. The fact is that these titles have a ton of quality built into them and while some of the cutscenes may feel youth oriented at times, they tend to be enjoyable for all audiences. This is no small cast either, with the voice of Invader Zim (Richard Steven Horvitz) as your nemesis and Joe Swanson from Family Guy (Patrick Warburton) playing your friend Flynn, and that’s just to name a few! This is a professional, polished production. Gameplay isn’t a kids button masher either. Skylanders

Gears Of War Free Now, Via Games with Gold

Posted on December 2, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Microsoft’s Games with Gold campaign keeps chugging along like the little engine that could. This month is no exception as one of the big hitting exclusive games, Gears Of War – released Nov. 7th, 2006, will be free from December 1st through December 15th. When Gears Of War was first announced, it dropped the jaw of many gamers. It spent its fair share of time in the Top 10 leaderboards of Xbox Live gaming activity and rightly so. While many gamers have played Gears Of War, it’s still one of the best exclusive games for the Xbox 360 and is a game

Take A Look Back At The PlayStation Start Up Sounds

Posted on December 2, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Our console’s start-up sound effects can easily become etched in our memories, you’ll probably hear the starting roar of your favorite console a few hundred times – if not more. To celebrate the recent European launch of the PlayStation 4 Sony has released a short montage featuring the starting sounds for all four of their home consoles from the last 18 years. Hearing the PlayStation one boot up effect again reminds me of the closing days of ’98 where I worked my way through Resident Evil 2 slaying zombies for hours. I didn’t even own the game I’d just keep

You Tube Arrives on Nintendo 3DS

Posted on December 1, 2013 by Jason Nason

The You Tube application has quietly arrived in the Nintendo 3DS eShop over the weekend with the app popping up sometime after the weekly downloads were released. The application is quite small and works pretty well, with the app feeling like an extension of the 3DS web browser. Originally announced as part of November 13th’s Nintendo Direct, the YouTube application allows Nintendo 3DS owners, with a broadband Internet connection, to watch all their favorite YouTube content on the go. Videos are displayed on the top screen of the portable while the bottom screen is used for browsing content. The app

State Of Decay Breakdown | Review

Posted on November 27, 2013 by Les Major

The first DLC expansion to State of Decay is a treat for hardcore fans who want to play out their own survival story without being weighed down by any main story missions. While it may sound strange to purchase an add-on to essentially take things out of the game, this potentially did take a lot of work to accomplish and there is an interesting mildly arcade sort of focus to Breakdown. Basically the expansion, accessed separately from the title screen, starts you off with Lily Ritter admitting defeat to your situation and looking for a new home base. You are

Soul Sacrifice Now Available On PlayStation Plus

Posted on November 26, 2013 by Rae Michelle Richards

Did you miss out on Keiji Inafune’s last post mega man project, Soul Sacrifice? Sony has posted this latest Vita exclusive role-playing game for all PlayStation Plus subscribers to enjoy. We don’t know how long the game will be available so you should grab it as soon as possible – sometimes free games are available for a few months and other times they’re gone after only a few short weeks. The install clocks in at about 1.8 GBs, so if you are still using one of the 4GB memory cards that often ships with the PlayStation Vita you might be

Xbox One Ships 1 Million In Under 24 Hours

Posted on November 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Although there have been reports of the Xbox One having issues, that’s not stopped it from selling over 1 million consoles in less that 24 hours. Following similar success from the Playstation 4 it looks as if both consoles are off to a great start. In the UK, the Xbox One sold over 150,000 consoles which is double the figure of the Xbox 360’s launch numbers – and puts it just a few thousand units away from topping the Wii U’s lifetime sales in the UK (which launched December 2012). Other interesting stats over the first 24 hours… Over 60 million zombies have been killed in

LEGO The Hobbit Officially Announced

Posted on November 25, 2013 by Joshua Rust

Traveller’s Tales, creator of the fantastic LEGO games, has announced today a new LEGO game based off a popular book series that you may have heard of…LEGO The Hobbit. While some may see these as kids games, I’ll have to give TT credit because the last few games (LEGO Batman 2, LEGO Marvel, LEGO Lord of the Rings), have been exceptionally fun – yes, even for a “kids game”.
