Square Enix Details Final Fantasy XIII Collector’s Edition

Square Enix released details on the upcoming collector’s edition for Final Fantasy XIII, which will be available for preorder exclusively through the Square Enix online store. The collector’s edition will be available when the game launches on February 11th, 2014 for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Xbox One Sells 2 Million Consoles in 18 Days

Nintendo 3DS eShop eSsues

Some users have been posting about issues connecting to the Nintendo’s 3DS eShop following yesterday’s 3DS update, which added Miiverse and Nintendo Network IDs to the portable gaming device. The issue was also posted by Game Informer and was also experienced with us here as well. Last night immeditely after the update I signed up for a Nintendo Network ID and had no issues getting into the eShop. My previous balance carried over to my new NNid without difficulty. This afternoon howerver I received the following error message when trying to access the eShop:

Progress Of The Starbound Beta

Chucklefish, the developer behind the recent Terraria-like space adventure, has kept beta players going with lots of fast and furious updates. They’ve actually apologized for a slow update progress, which is surprising since they only released the beta on December 4th and this is already the second patch sent out today. Perhaps there was mention of an update sooner on their forums or such. So far Starbound has been lots of fun! Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Set for Feb 21st Release

Nintendo confirmed the release date of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze at Saturday’s VGX event while also confirming a new playable character. The game is set to be released for the Wii U on February 21st with Cranky Kong the newest playable character. The hosts of the awards show tried to pry for more information out of Nintendo at the event, including the ask if another Metroid game was in the works, but no other information was revealed. Tales from the Borderlands Announced

Telltale Games and Gearbox Software have superhero teamed up to bring you what could be a very interesting twist on the Borderlands franchise. Tales from the Borderlands was announced last night at SpikeTV’s VGX Award show and will be released in 2014. For those unfamiliar, but really how could you be, Telltale Games is responsible for the incredible The Walking Dead game (and no, not that other one you’re probably thinking of). Telltale Games will be developing the game, while Gearbox Software will be providing support to keep the continuity in check, among other things.

XBLA Releases – December 4th, 2013

This week’s releases on Xbox Live Arcade is limited to one, technically, and that is The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief. There are three different episodes that were released today, each episode costing $9.99. If you want the complete game, it will set you back $30. Episode One weighs in at 3.13 GB, Episode Two at 2.88 GB, and Episode Three at 2.59 GB….so make sure you have some free space on your hard-drive!

Starbound’s Beta Has Launched

Planet hopping, Terraria like side scrolling explorer game Starbound has launched into beta and is now available on Steam. It’s so new all the information doesn’t even seem to be filled out yet on Steam such as requirements and the like. Now that’s early access! Bravely Default Sequel On the Way?

According to a report on Kotaku, there may be a sequel to Square Enix’s Bravely Default: Flying Fairy game for the Nintendo 3DS. The first game, which came out in 2012 in Japan with an enhanced edition released just today. This new version has yet to be released in North America but is currently slated for release in North America on February 7th, 2014. Europe will see the game this Friday. Nintendo is publishing the game in both territories. The report lists the information as an unconfirmed leak from a Japanese magazine, but has yet to confirm the leak with
