Super Mario Maker Supports Sonic, Pit & Splatoon Amiibo

Remember a few months ago back at E3 when Nintendo revealed that certain Amiibo like the Wii Fit trainer would change Mario’s sprite in Super Mario Maker?  Well it turns out you can earn this skins for the red plumber without forking over nearly forty bucks for a Wii Fit trainer or other rare Amiibo. They can be unlocked by completing the 100 Mario challenge instead! Also spotted by GoNintendo were screen-grabs posted on the Miiverse that show that Super Mario Maker will support the Pit, Sonic and Splatoon Amiibo if you happen to own them. The Resident Evil series has seen brighter days and it is only beginning to undo the damage that Resident Evil 6 inflicted upon the franchise with entries like the recent HD remake of the original game heading to current generation consoles. Capcom is trying something new with the RE franchise by adopting an episodic format for the latest entry in its Revelations sub-series. Final Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Map Pack Out Sept 3rd

Call of Duty fans on Windows PC and PlayStation 4 will finally be able to get their hands on the last map pack, Reckoning, for last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on September 3rd Activision has announced. Combining four new multiplayer maps (see descriptions below) and a conclusion to the “Exo Zombies” mode originally introduced in the first DLC for Advanced Warfare this is sure to keep longtime fans glued to their screens until the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III later this year. Capcom Finally Commits To Developing An HD Remake of Resident Evil 2

Fans have been clamoring for an HD update to Capcom’s 1998 classic Resident Evil 2 for well over a decade and now the publisher has announced that production on a reboot of the game has begun at Capcom R&D Division 1.  Capcom has been on a bit of a roll with the Resident Evil franchise after the polished re-tooling of the 2002 remake of the original RE sold over 1 million copies. Halo Wars Gets a Sequel For 2016

At their GamesCom 2015 conference Microsoft announced that a sequel to 2009’s Halo Wars is being produced by long time RTS developer Creative Assembly. The folks over at CA are probably best known for the Total War series but they also developed the critically acclaimed Aliens: Isolation this past Fall. Very little is known about the gameplay or story for Halo Wars 2 aside from the fact that Creative Assembly have said that the game will play closer to the original than their other RTS titles. ThatGameCompany’s Journey is a game that I had heard a whole ton of positive things about but I never got the chance to play it when it was originally released in 2012 on the PS3. Now that Tricky Pixels has ported the game to Sony’s latest platform and it is included in the 2015 Summer Play Sale now feels like the perfect time for me to take a Journey.

Final Fantasy XII HD Unexpectedly Teased

It looks like there will be a little bit of something for everyone with PS4 users getting Lara Croft & The Temple of Osiris and Limbo for free. PS Vita owners will get access to Castlestorm, Sound Shapes and Stealth Inc while PS3 owners will get God of War Ascension as their gratis game for the month. Rise of the Tomb Raider Coming To PlayStation In Holiday 2016

As it turns out the console exclusivity deal for Crystal Dynamic’s Rise of the Tomb Raider is simply a timed exclusive deal, something neither publisher Square Enix or Microsoft mentioned during the games numerous appearances at E3 2014, Gamescom 2014 or this past E3. Phantasy Star Online 2 Anime Due Out In 2016

SEGA of Japan has announced an animated adaptation of its popular Japanese free-to-play MMORPG Phantasy Star Online. The anew anime titled Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation will debut sometime in 2016 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the original PSO on the Dreamcast and will take place on a near future presumably before the events of the game.
