Posted on October 7, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

UBISoft has officially announced that the next Far Cry game, and its going to be in the Stone Age. The first trailer is cryptic but clearly features a mammoth (one live and one dead) and a series of stone age tools, as well as a bow and arrows. Beyond that I personally expect that the game will mostly be the same far Cry as always but with out the guns. Check out the trailer for Far Cry Primal and keep it tuned here for all the latest Far Cry news. [youtube id=”LJ2iH57Fs3M”]

What Rae’s Been Playing This Week [10.07.2015]

Posted on October 7, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

This week has been pretty huge for games and it’s only Tuesday evening here on the west coast. I’ve got two reviews in progress – Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax and RockBand 4- both of which I will be digging into over the weekend for coverage sometime next week. Rather than focus on the near-future let’s travel to the stars with two titles I’ve been playing over the past two days. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty Over the past week or so I’ve been taking nightly trips to the outer colony worlds of Koprulu section in StarCraft II with my wife.

What Kenny’s Playing this Week

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

Now that I’ve been able to bring myself back to playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain again, I find that it’s going right back to eating up my time. I’m hoping to get the new Witcher 3 DLC Expansion this week at some point and, from what I hear, that’s going to be a huge undertaking as well. I’ve put some time into Metal Gear Online as it just dropped today and I’m looking forward to logging some time into that one as well, though I probably won’t be on it nearly as much as I’d be with The Phantom

Metal Gear Online 3 – First Impressions

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now complete with the addition of its Metal Gear Online feature, the third of its kind in the franchise and it has never felt better. Like previous renditions, this version of MGO uses the engine of the game you have been playing alongside it for so long and turned the scenario on its head. You’re given a series of basic scenarios and it’s up to you to be the best damn infiltrator you can be.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six – Siege: A Closed Beta Report

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

Rainbow Six Siege
Writers Note: This beta was reviewed using the PlayStation 4 copy of the game. There was a time when I was actually pretty decent at FPS games: back when graphics on PC games weren’t as demanding so the variety of computers they worked on was greater, back when twitch shooting wasn’t the entire focus of gameplay, back when franchises like Rainbow Six focused on tactical play and thinking outside of the box. You see, I like FPS games when they demand a little more than being the quickest, most accurate trigger on the block. I like when FPS games require a lot

SEGA Unleashes Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

SEGA has brought over Ecole Software’s anime dream team fighting mashup Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax to North America for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The basic concept of this game can be boiled down to “what if we took a bunch of memorable or popular anime characters and allowed them to battle it out!” With a roster that reads like a “who’s who” of the anime world from the past decade or so there are some memorable favorites like Mikoto Mikasa from A Certain Scientific Railgun or Asuna from Sword Art Online or the absolutely adorable but fearsome Taiga

A Computer Capable Of Running Battlefront Is Much Stronger Than You Can Possibly Imagine

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

The force must be strong with EA as they prepare to launch the Open Beta for Star Wars: Battlefront on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Ahead of Thursday’s official kick off the publisher has posted the minimum and recommended specs for game on its official Origin page. The recommended specs are probably going to shock a lot of people considering they are recommending an NVIDIA Geforce 960 & an  Intel i5 6600 both of which are top-shelf components costing about $300 USD a pop and both of which were only released in the last few months.  If you

The Witcher III: Hearts of Stone Trailer Arrives

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Adventurers seeking more time with Geralt in The Witcher III are about to have their wish granted with the release of the game’s first expansion, Hearts of Stone, which launches on October 26th. This time around Geralt must recruit a crew of break-in artists, spend a night with some ghoulish creatures all in the name of his quest to defeat the seemingly immortal Olgierd Von Everec. This trailer does a good job of explaining what is at stake in Hearts of Stone as well as explaining that perhaps Von Everec isn’t a cut-and-dry villain but perhaps more of a cursed

What I’m Playing this week

Posted on October 6, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Hey everybody Fionna Fox here with your weekly games check in! This week I am playing grey goo. It’s a great RTS from the teams that brought were once know as Westwood (may they rest in pieces THANKS EA). Its got a pretty deep camping so I expect it will take the majority of my time before the Star Wars battle front beta eats me for the weekend.  I expect that battlefront is going to be interesting, but fear it may be too generic! Be sure to check our first impressions which should go up Monday! hit me up on

Posted on October 5, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

It looks like several YouTubers and press outlets already have access to the previously announced open beta for Star Wars: Battlefront as gameplay details and videos are starting to trickle out. The folks over at IGN.com noticed that the beta includes 4 previously unannounced game modes which of course are not selectable during this stress test. They are as follows: \ Supremacy Blast Cargo Droid Run No other details about these modes is available at this time. The open beta for Star Wars: Battlefront is expected to launch to the general public on Thursday October 8th and last until the

The Hunt Begins In The Latest Live Action Halo 5 Trailer

Posted on October 5, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Microsoft and 343 Industries have released a brand new 90 second live-action trailer for the upcoming Xbox One exclusive Halo 5: Guardians. In this trailer a commanding voice (presumably a high ranking UNSC officer) explains to Spartan Locke that the officially Masterchief (Spartan 117) is official listed as Killed In Action but unofficially has stopped responding to orders and is now considered an enemy of the UNSC. Core to the single player experience of Halo 5: Guardians is rivalry between Master Chief’s Blue Squad and Spartan Locke’s Team of Fireteam Osiris. The theme of team rivalry carries over into the

Harmonix’s first attempt at a current generation Rock Band is about to make its debut at retail tomorrow morning with the release of Rock Band 4 and I thought it might be a good idea to review some of the game’s key features and set-list for those of you who are still on the fence about whether or not they want to get the VIP pass for this latest gig! Not only is Rock Band 4 the first game to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but it also promises to support all of your previously purchased

Dedicated Fans Develop Twilight Princess HD Texture Pack

Posted on October 4, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

It looks like one particularly dedicated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Fan has decided to take it upon themselves to develop an updated texture pack for the nine year old Nintendo Wii / Nintendo GameCube title. Running off of the very popular GameCube/Wii emulator Dolphin this project aims to clean up some of the standard definition textures while adding a bit of a touch of Skyward Sword’s art-style. This isn’t a complete remake but rather touching up assets that already exist. Project developer Tomoya describes the upgrade as follows: I’ve decided to retexture Twilight Princess GC! I wanted to
