Posted on March 21, 2018 by Jason Nason

One of the games highlighted in Nintendo’s Nindies presentation looks like it’s going to be a blast. No pun intended. The game in question is Bomb Chicken from Nitrome. And who wouldn’t want to play a good old-fashioned chicken platformer? Bomb Chicken is a fast-paced game that combines action, puzzles and arcade gameplay. You’ll lay bombs to escape tricky situations and discover secret areas when Bomb Chicken launches first on Nintendo Switch this summer. It will be released later on Steam. Posted on March 20, 2018 by Jason Nason

In a Nindies Showcase video released during this year’s Game Developers Conference, Nintendo featured more than a dozen independent games coming to Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo Switch system in 2018. “Nindies” is of course the term for independent developers making games for Nintendo systems. “Since the launch of Nintendo Switch, we’ve continued to be blown away with the amount of high-quality games coming from our passionate Nindie developers, and the positive fan reception for those experiences,” said Damon Baker, Nintendo of America’s Senior Manager for Publisher & Developer Relations. “This talented and ever-growing community of Nindies has found a home on

Getting To Quake Champions Hasn’t Been Cheaper With New $4.99 Entry Level Pack

Posted on March 19, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

The arena FPS genre hasn’t exactly been a hotbed of activity – especially with games like Battleborn and Unreal Tournament 4 seeming to cease development. Bethesda’s Quake Champions might be the last true arena deathmatch FPS game in production, not counting the AFPS indie offspring like DUSK and TOKIK. Previously access to Quake Champions was divided between the previous closed beta test players who are able to play the game in “free to play mode” through the Bethesda Launcher or by purchasing the $29.99 USD “Champions Pack” which provides access to the Quake Champions client and all of the released

GameCube Classic Luigi’s Mansion Being Remade For 3DS

Posted on March 15, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Revealed during last week’s Nintendo Direct presentation, the classic GameCube launch title Luigi’s Mansion is being remade for the Nintendo 3DS. It has been 17 years since Mario’s brother strapped on the Poltergust 3000 vacuum cleaner in a bid to clean up the mansion of spirits in order to free Mario. This remake will feature the same levels and gameplay that made the original such an odd but delightful departure from the series formula. It also has some really cool 90s era Nintendo throwbacks like the “Game Boy Horror” used by Professor E-Gad resembling the design of the Gameboy Color,

Dandara Review | Nintendo Switch Review

Posted on March 14, 2018 by Meghan Kass

Publisher Raw Fury and developer Long Hat House have come together to give us quite the indie game. Dandara is a Metroidvania style game with focus on exploration and 2D action-adventure gameplay and while this may seem a bit commonplace and trendy, Dandara caught my attention in a big way with its concept, character development and world building. Originally released for the iphone in December of last year, this metroidvania inspired game makes the leap on to the Nintendo Switch. Dandara’s concept is loosely based on the story of an Afro-Brazilian warrior who fought aside men against slavery during the

The Mean Greens Will Get Bots In Future Update

Posted on March 14, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Plastic army infantry simulator and indie spiritual successor to the long dormant Army Men franchise, The Mean Greens will be receiving the much requested addition of online/offline bots in a future update. This news isn’t particularly new, the development of bots was originally revealed on Christmas Day but given that The Mean Greens is a smaller title with a very small player-base I thought it’d be a good reminder to our readers who maybe haven’t had a chance to play the game. Supporting modes like free-for-all deathmatch and team death-match, The Mean Greens casts players as the tiny army soldiers

Octo-expansion coming to Splatoon 2

Posted on March 12, 2018 by Jason Nason

A new single-player expansion is coming to Splatoon 2. The first paid DLC is coming to Splatoon 2 this summer and it’s a big one. One of the things that I’ve been hoping for with the second Splatoon title was the ability to play as an Octoling. That is going to be possible thanks to the new expansion. Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion adds a hefty new single-player mode that lets players play as new character Agent 8, an Octoling with lost memories. The new single-player campaign features 80 missions, as well as new stories that shed new light on beloved

Nintendo Lands Some Back Spin With New Mario Tennis Aces Details

Posted on March 9, 2018 by Rae Michelle Richards

Yesterday during the absolutely massive Nintendo Direct presentation (which pretty much broke the internet thanks to the announcement of Super Smash Bros for Nintendo Switch) Nintendo also outlined a lot of the larger titles coming to Switch in the first half of the year. One of the games ready to be served up is Mario Tennis Aces. Mario is about to share the court with Luigui, Wario, Peach, Rosalina, Wuluigi, Daisy, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Toad, Toadette and even a freaking Chain-Chomp that adorably holds its tennis racket in its mouth. In all there are 15 unique characters available to choose
