Posted on October 20, 2015 by Jason Nason

Have you seen the trailer for the new Friday the 13th? I don’t mean the movie, which is due out next February from Paramount Pictures. I mean the game. Yes, there is a game on the way. Like the 2009 film was kind of a modern retelling of the original 1980 film, this is also a modern video game retelling. Heck, the last Friday the 13th game was for the NES way back in 1989! So what is Friday the 13th: The Game?

PlayStation Plus Review: PS4 October 2015

Posted on October 19, 2015 by Kenny Keelan

In a slight change of pace, Sony decided to give us PlayStation Plus users a chance to delve into some great indie titles for the PlayStation 4: Broken Age and Super Meat Boy, both games I have never given myself the chance to play. I find that, usually, the PlayStation Plus titles were merely alright – while they’re great by indie standards and stand the test of time, for some of them, they didn’t always hit home with me – and this was a welcome change. Broken Age Put together by Tim Schafer and the fine folks at Double Fine Productions, Broken Age

Hideo Kojima Has Left Konami and Kojima Productions

Posted on October 19, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Hideo Kojima, whom has leant his name to Kojima productions, has left Koonami, and his self named studio. This will come as no surprise to most people, after he was asked to step away from his last project (Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain) due to time and budget concerns. A source whom spoke with the New Yorker said a ceremony took place at Kojima studios for his departure, about 100 people attended, and that there was a “rather cheerful but also emotional goodbye.” the source, who wished to remain unnamed, said that he did not see Konami’s president, Hideki Hayakawa, or

Turn-Based Wild West Shooting Game Hard West Releasing November 4th

Posted on October 19, 2015 by Broken Joysticks

Developed by CreativeForge Games, a new studio that has made exactly one game before this which I hadn’t heard of before googling them, Hard West is a strange beast. With a gameplay style shown in trailers that is reminiscent of the highly underrated Shadowrun Returns and a rather unique setting for a tactical game, this has been one I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while. And now it’s finally coming out November 4th!

Hands-On With The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes | Preview

Posted on October 18, 2015 by Rae Michelle Richards

Nintendo held a special online-only stress test for their upcoming multiplayer focused entry in the Zelda franchise – The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. Codes were distributed by the Big N’s mailing list and select 3DS owners were able to participate in a maximum of 15 hours with the game across three different levels with random strangers. I quickly grabbed my Kokiri sword and green tunic and ventured into the world of Hyrule for a few hours over the course of this weekend and I’d love to share some of my initial impressions.

Defiance TV show canceled, Game will go on.

Posted on October 17, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Gotta give  SyFy props for trying on this one. They limped along for three seasons in their mixed media, its a video game and a TV show experice. The game was even pretty good. But i think at this point it surprises no one that the show portion has been canceled.  The game portion developed by Trion Worlds was a functional MMO cool shooter elements and a great deal of appeal. It was also an early pioneer of cross platform play, being released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. We’ve had a great time working closely with the team of

Posted on October 17, 2015 by Fionna Schweit

Nintendo is not known for their consoles power. Histrically they have been under powered but innovative, with the last two being pioneers in motion control and second screen technologies. So it comes as a surprise when in an article in The Wall Street Journal, nintendo is quoited as saying the NX will also reportedly use “industry-leading chips in the devices that will presumably allow for better graphics and deeper functionality.” The article also reports that there will be at least two components to the system, one which can be used as a mobile component and one that can be used as
