With both the SteamVR’s HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift releasing in the first quarter of 2016, virtual reality hardware has been getting a lot of attention. Yet it is the games for the platforms that really showcase the breathtaking experiences that can happen virtual reality. As a VR enthusiast who has had the pleasure of trying many VR games, both released and unreleased, on the Vive and the Rift, I wanted to share my favorite experiences.

Torment: Tides of Numenera Switches Project Lead, Now set for 2016 release

In an update on kickstarter, developer inXile has announced its spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment will be releasing somewhere in 2016, moving the date back from its original Q4 2015 release window. It has also been announced that project manager Kevin Saunders will be leaving the studio. He will be replaced by Wasteland 2 lead Chris Keenan.

Towards the end of the trailer there’s even a special appearance from a long-time animal crossing resident! Xbox One’s Forza 6 Gets Custom Concept Controller

It would seem that after a long drought console gamers will again be able to get custom licensed first party peripherals on the Xbox One. First we saw the two Halo controllers and then the Fall Out 4 edition, and now  a Forza theme modeled after the colors and pedals of the Ford GT.  The elite controller is only a few weeks old, but already we are getting a concept for a nice licensed first party themed edition. Tribes developer Hi-Rez studios has released the entire back catalog of Tribes titles available for free on their official website in honor of the series’ 20th anniversary. Earlier this week the Hearthstone World Championship officially started. Even though it was only the round of 16, viewer count peaked at over 100K, briefly becoming the most viewed game on Twitch. 3 new flight modes to be added in Star Citizen 2.0 Release

Star Citizen has been pretty controversial recently. Robertson Space Industries, the developer, has been accused of not delivering of having major staff issues, many backers requested updates on time tables and finances, and it even seemed some former employees corroborated these stories.  Well RSI hopes to put to bed all the malcontents with patch 2.0 for the alpha which brings major changes.  The change will add three new flight modes, Quantum travel, and move to a “third order motion control system,” what ever the heck that is. Overwatch’s newest character is a Star Craft II Pro

The newest addition to the line up for Blizzards huge MOBA overwatch has been annoucned. Her name is D.VA (pronounced DIVA). She appeared briefly on Blizzards official over watch twitter with a link to the  StarCraft 2 WCS site. In game  Hana “D.Va” Song is, in game lore, a real StarCraft 2 pro. She’s the best in the world, in fact, but she’s taking a break from the game so she can serve her homeland. “At the age of 16, D.Va became the #1 ranked player in the world and proceeded to go undefeated for the next three years in all competitions,”

November 2015 PS Plus Games Revealed

After a bit of a delay and some leaks November’s PlayStation Plus line-up has been revealed over on the PlayStation Blog. Headlining next month’s free games is The Walking Dead Season 2 – which was highly critically acclaimed upon its completion last August. Also on the PlayStation 4 is Paradox Interactive’s sequel to the 2011 co-op action adventure original.  PS3 owners will receive Bioware’s excellent RPG sequel Mass Effect 2 and Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil HD, while PlayStation Vita owners will snag Invizimals (Not sure if it’s the original PSP release or the Vita sequel) and the brand new
