Oculus
As expected Facebook owned Oculus opened up pre-orders for their much anticipated virtual reality headset this morning. No one knew what the price point of the fledgling technology was going to be before the pre-order page went live. Potential Oculus Rift owners were greeted with a $599 USD (849.99 CDN) price point and of course there was so much traffic going to Oculus’ servers that at times the page wouldn’t load. So what does almost a thousand dollars Canadian get you? There’s the Oculus headset of course but the slickly packaged virtual reality headset also includes several other items in

Kenny’s Fallout 4 Log – Almost Two Months

Posted on January 6, 2016 by Kenny Keelan

It’s about five or six days short of two months owning the game and I’ve still been playing it, off and on, to pass the time when I’m bored with other games. There’s always downtime with Final Fantasy XIV, too, as my server has some pretty well defined times when it’s better off you just log off if you don’t want to solo quest. I’ve found that in playing it for as long as I have, I’ve pretty much done all that I can do, short of starting again or waiting until Bethesda patches the multitude of issues the game has,

A new game has been announced on Kickstarter. It’s an expansive, open world RPG in the Star Wars universe with graphics rivaling Star Wars: Battlefront and “with the feel of The Witcher 3“. The game is set to launch December 2017 if its funding goal of $200,000 is met within the next 26 days. Development has yet to start, the team has not yet been formed, and licenses have not yet been acquired. If you could not contain your laughter upon reading the last paragraph, congratulations, you may have a sane understanding of video game development. While Kickstarter and other crowdfunding sites

Posted on January 5, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

A Boy And His Blob
WayForward Technologies’ 2009 reimagining of  A Boy and His Blob is coming to the Xbox Live Marketplace and presumably the PlayStation Network in just over two weeks time. Spotted by eagle eyed readers on the Xbox Live Marketplace this current gen port of the Wii original looks to boast impressive 2D art assets that no doubt benefit from the bump to an HD resolution. The Xbox One version will clock in at about 2.19GB if the Xbox Live Marketplace is correct. The game is a 2D platformer where the player, taking the role of the titular boy, must utilize his

Kickstarter has become a wasteland for games

Posted on January 5, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Kickstarter is often a place where you can find interesting and odd things. But it’s also a place where you can go to get a lot of money and not do a lot. It’s both great and evil at the same time. This project is a wonderful example of what can be a disaster on Kickstarter. Started just a few days ago “Star Wars Open World RPG” is a project started by “Devin” a 20 year old man from Grapevine Texas who just wants to make an open world star wars mmo to answer the question “Ever wonder what if would

Posted on January 5, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Steel Series Gaming Mouse
Hardware manufacturer Steel Series has announced the Rival 700 Smart Gaming Mouse, a pretty neat piece of kit that is being marketed to the hard-core Counter Strike: Global Offensive crowd. What makes this mouse worthy of your headshots over say a rival mouse? Aside from a number of pretty neat inclusions, which I’ll get to in a moment, the Rival 700 Smart Gaming Mouse has a build in OLED screen that will act as a headshot counter when using StatTrak weapons in Global Offensive. Aside from the customizable OLED screen (which can be tweaked using the Steel Series Engine) the
