Posted on January 8, 2016 by Kenny Keelan

Paradigm Shift In case you missed it or you’ve been living underneath a gaming rock for the last little while, Oculus announced a price and start date for shipping for its Rift VR Headset: 599$ USD and March 28th. As one can expect, the reaction was generally the same as it is with things that have been hyped a lot: “gaming company does a thing; the internet freaks out.” I could talk about the reasoning behind such pricing, why some people think it’s outrageous, why I think it’s perfectly reasonable and should have been expected, and why expectations were set differently

Cooler Master unveils new modular case

Posted on January 7, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Cooler Master has always led the way in case design for avid PC gamers, but now it seems they are upping their game in to the enthusiast world with a fully modular case. As someone who themselves uses a CM trooper and loves it, this can not come as better news. Cooler Master has long been my favorite manufacturer of cases and now the MasterAir Maker 8 and 5 show that they are as dedicated to their craft as I am to gaming. The new case called the MasterAir Maker 5 incudes four USB ports, one of which is USB 3.0 Type-C, a

Psychonauts 2 reaches funding goal

Posted on January 7, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Well it was bound to happen, Psychonauts 2 has successfully raised the over 3 million dollars it requested from its fans on new fundraising site Fig.com [youtube id=i7i2yfqp8pc] Fig is interesting in that its more of a micro investment site than a true crowd funder, yes still in this case the campaign is split almost 50/50 between conventional “reward” backers, at $1.613 million, and investors, at $1.698 million. It seems many of the donators either did not understand how fig works, or simply love Psychonauts 2 so much they just wanted to give it their money with no real want of

Palmer Luckey insists “we are not making money on Rift”

Posted on January 7, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Oculus
So the Occulus Rift sold out at 600$. A price point that I belived would make it unobtainable for most average consumers. Way too much for me (I had budgeted for 450$), and 100$ more even than most industry estimates. Much more than what we heard in 2014 which was 200$-400$ and while this was in a European publication, its still fairly safe to say even in Euros that price does not match. Luckey tweeted “To reiterate, we are not making money on Rift hardware. High end VR is expensive, but Rift is obscenely cheap for what it is.” The hole

Petite Novel Series – Harvest December | Review

Posted on January 7, 2016 by Jason Nason

For a number of reasons this review has been challenging and for those same reasons this review will actually have to be a two-part review. The first part of the review is based on the software itself while the second part based on the story. It’s an odd way to do the review, but hear me out. Petit Novel series – Harvest December is a collection of 13 stories set in the small, snowy town of Tagami. Follow Masaki Konno, a teenager prone to falling into sticky situations through his last year of high school. Each month is a new
