Hard Reset
Flying Wild Hog, probably best known for their reboot of the Shadow Warrior franchise, is preparing to rebalance and upgrade their 2012 first person shooter Hard Reset for current generation consoles and a second go at Windows PC due out later this year. Specific enhancements include graphical upgrades, new enemies, weapons and a glowing cyber katana that looks like it was ripped out of the pages of an indie comic book. Who wouldn’t want to hack apart enemies with a glowing instrument of death? No price has been announced for Hard Reset Redux as of yet. You can check out

Video: Rockets Only On High Ground (Halo PC)

Posted on January 26, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Halo 3 High Ground
I just had the most entertaining match of Halo Online that I think I’ve played in the past few days and I just had to cut it out and share it with readers. High Ground is one of the maps from Halo 3 that will be burned in my mind after playing it so much during the limited beta back in 2007. Basically it’s a sandy, rocky, desert area with some UNSC structures and light vehicles like the mongoose.  Well what happens when you get eight players, through them into Team Slayer with only rocket launchers? A lot of explosions,

Broken Bootlegs- A Link to the Past

Posted on January 26, 2016 by Erika

Broken Bootlegs is a new weekly series covering unlicensed games (also known as bootleg games) for mainly 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. For this week I’ll introduce what bootleg games are, along with a review for A Link to the Past for the Famicom. Sometimes these types of games are an unauthorized port of one game to another system, a ROM hack of existing games that were commercially distributed, or could be original games that use copyright characters without the owners permission. One of the more infamous examples of a bootleg game that’s out there is Somari.

Resident Evil shooter gets a release date: May

Posted on January 26, 2016 by Fionna Schweit

Turning the beloved atmospheric third person shooter/adventure game Resident Evil in to a “competitive shooter” is a decision that when it was announced was questioned by both industy and fan alike. Why would we want this? What purpose could this serve? Resident Evil isint even really a shooter! The fans cried. They were confused, this is supposed to be AAA right? I dont get it what could be competitive about a story based game like Resident Evil? Unfortunately for hard core R E fans, the first trailer for the new competitive Resident Evil shooter in the new year simply serves to

EA Teases Battlefront Announcement For Tomorrow

Posted on January 26, 2016 by Kirk Williford

It looks like Star Wars: Battlefront fans will be receiving some much-welcomed news tomorrow, if a post on the official Battlefront Twitter account is to be believed. Although not much detail was given aside from a mysterious tweet that read “Prepare for a cold front coming through #StarWarsBattlefront tomorrow… “, a recent community event held by DICE challenged players to play over 500,000 hours as both Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. The community shattered that goal, and with that accomplishment came the suggestion to “look to Hoth to show the fruits of your labor once the January update has been

Posted on January 25, 2016 by Jason Nason

It’s been exactly one week since the last system update, but the Nintendo 3DS firmware has been updated again. This is a very minor update which updates the 3DS system from version 10.4.0-29 U to version 10.5.0-30U. There aren’t any big changes in this update, with the only text on the update the very same as last week’s update. The text from Nintendo as follows: “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.”

Death of a Shooter: Halo 3’s Xbox 360 Multiplayer Is a Ghost Town

Posted on January 25, 2016 by Rae Michelle Richards

Call it yearning for nostalgia, call it reliving the old days but after writing and producing the Halo Online preview that went live today I decided to dust off my Xbox 360 from the back of my entertainment center. After I signed up for a trial for Xbox Live, as it had been at least a year since I last played my Xbox 360 and was ready to see what my favorite multiplayer Halo title had been up too in the past nine years. What greeted me after logging in was a literal ghost town. Yesterday on a sunny Sunday
