Splatoon Splatfest Results: Blue wins the Day

Posted on February 21, 2016 by Jason Nason

The results of the latest Splatfest are in and it looks like Blue has won the day. Despite Red winning the popular vote, Blue had a higher win percentage and took the round in points. I had chosen team Red because my very first Pokémon game was the red version with Charizard on the cover. I got the game way back when it was first released. Which team were you on? Did your team win?

Fallout Shelter Convinced Bethesda to Create More Mobile Games

Posted on February 20, 2016 by Broken Joysticks

Fallout Shelter, which was released last year during E3, had a surprising amount of success. As a result, Bethesda has expressed a desire to create more games like it. Speaking to Gamespot, Director Todd Howard said: “It’s in your pocket, a lot of [the games are] free or easy to try. So every time you’re playing, you’re thinking, ‘We could do one of these, I think we could do something special here.’ So we’re gonna do more.” Fallout Shelter did so well it temporarily over took Candy Crush Saga as the number one game on the Android and IOS marketplace,

Word Puzzles by POWGI | Review

Posted on February 19, 2016 by Jason Nason

I enjoy puzzle games, though most of my puzzle solving comes from puzzles built into other game genres. From problem solving and deduction like the Ace Atorney games, or figuring out a logic puzzle in Resident Evil, puzzles are usually relegated to mini-games in other titles. With Word Puzzles by POWGI for the Wii U and 3DS, they take centre stage. Word Puzzles by POWGI is a bare bones word puzzle game. The game has a very simple presentation, with minimalistic visuals and some subtle background music to keep you going. The game has a very black and white look

Game Reviews Done Quick: Crypt of the Necrodancer

Posted on February 19, 2016 by Kyle Scarboro

Crypt of the Necrodancer is *breathe* Hardcore, Turn-based, Rogue-like, Dungeon-crawling, Rhythm-based game. *exhaaaallleeee* This game has you battling your way through a crypt full of smooth groovin, high flyin, street jivin, monsters ranging from skeletons, zombies, bats, dragons, and more. Crypt of the Necrodancer is a game that clearly had a great idea for a game and then they tacked on a story. Usually that is not the way to go, but this game offers a lot in such a small package that it is hardly the focal point.

As one of four playable characters, the Samurai is closest to the warrior or “tank” character archetype – lots of health and the ability to deal lots of up-close damage. The Samurai is capable of two types of attack disciplines: using massive individual swords to inflict high amounts

Posted on February 18, 2016 by Broken Joysticks

New projects Bethesda
Apparently Bethesda is working on no less than three big projects, each of which represents a “Bethesda-style game”. Speaking at Dice in Las Vegas today, Todd Howard, the director of both Fallout 4 and Skyrim, had this to say: “We have three longer-term projects we’re doing that are all … we’ll talk about them at a much future date.
